I myself never go on Facebook or this Banter Page , but ive heard so much about this thread , which now appears to have risen on this Forum now , lets not make it into the same so-called 300 and odd posts as the Banter page .

Personally im sure other players can be sponsored , we are all committed to the same goal a successful Leigh Centurions , and should stop this points scoring of each other .

I stand by my posts on Facebook if genuine Leigh fans want to invest in the club LISA should be the vehicle for that. The clubs fans input will grow a lot more with 200 new LISA members rather than 1 player sponsor that would get filled with a business any how!!

I'll ask for one of LISA,s events this season to involve fans meeting our sponsered played and more of the team, which is what most fans want

you have to be a registered member on that certain bit of the facebook site so that means links cant be posted, to be honest its all a storm in a teacup with people misquoting and misunderstanding or just being downright bloody minded over certain posts, so much so that I have chucked in even going on it anymore, which is a pity as there could have been some good stuff on there if it had been used properly and not used as a political bandwagon for sob stories.

Not wanting to generalize folk, but as regards to Leigh Centurions, not interested in any the 'politics', all that matters to me is what happens 'on the field'....guess some fans are not like me.
When my mate Mike Callaghan was the commercial manager, he used to contact me about some sponsor packages that hadn't been sold - days before a game, so me and my mates would 'chuck in' for one at a reduced rate. We had some great days/nights out, but when you meet some players/directors etc (after a few beers) not everyone is to your liking. But I guess 10+ years ago, there was no social media, to post gossip/$hite !

Surely to long in the tooth Leigh fans this type of nonsense at Leigh is nothing new? i just hope it doesn't have the same outcome as history shows it has in the passed when the team are doing so well.

I think this thread should be locked. It isn't good to see dirty washing being aired in public at any time but especially after such an excellent season. Representatives of the club shouldn't be exchanging their views on this forum or Facebook or Twitter. It's totally unprofessional and gives the club a bad image.

However it has it's uses and they can get messages out .
Also it's hard not to react when someone says something that's not correct, don't forget we have been In this position ourselves when Steve was a Director , so I understand how hard it is ........

I would agree with you if the suggestion had been about making a regular monthly/annual payment into the club but it wasn't. This was about a few fans wanting to put in a small amount as a one off payment to sponsor a player. That has nothing to do with LISA.

I'm not knocking LISA by the way, I think it is a great thing but this is completely seperate

Well only hope it comes off the more money going into the club the better.
Just goes to show, thouggh the way the thread turned out, its not only on here we get whinging and moaning
