| It's easy to see why Rob left Leigh. We're so well run that sponsors are beating our door down to get a piece of the action at Leigh. All the challenge had gone from Robs role.
Bradford, on the other hand, are a train wreck. Should be much more challenging for Rob at the Bulls.

Mike
Good points well made Rob deserves credit for what he's done but in no way had the challenge gone at Leigh Centurions indeed it was only just beginning.
We are now at a point were we need to go to the next level, some would argue we have only just scratched the surface so far and the fact is we need more sponsorship and more people through the turnstiles as we as a board at the moment are still putting in cash annually to underpin the budget.
Until we have a SL club self sustainable with gates of 5/6k min the challenge for our commercial staff and us as a board will always be there and we will all rise to it.
Great strides have been made during the last 15/16 months but we now have to rise to the challenges that the new structure brings and go to the next level and Robs successor or the team of people that may replace Rob will do that I am sure.
Our supporters and the people of Leigh now have a club and board capable of taking the next step and now is the time to really back it.
Cheers
Andy

Dammit! I thought he'd gone to The Bulls to play again - was looking forward to Sam B v Rob P - Oh well
Good Luck Rob - I always found you approachable and quite a nice guy - Thanks for all you did at Leigh both on and off the field.

| Gutted Rob has gone, i think it was an area he is very good at and i'm pretty sure his ability in the role surprised a few. I think with his history with the Bulls not much could have prevented him from going, sad to see him go but best wishes in his new challenge.

| Rob commenting on his new role with Leigh Centurions said in Jan 2013
“My wife and children are as excited about this new role as I am. I am a Leigh lad and after several years in Super League I have rekindled my love of the game with Leigh Centurions. Our club has some fantastic potential and I want to play my part in getting it into Super League, which is what our ground was built for.”

In his own little way, he's probably suggesting that Rob hasn't stuck around, like he said he would, to get Leigh into SL. Of course, it could also be argued that he's played a huge part in setting that process firmly on its way.

| Critical appointment this one as it's a CEO and the club needs to get this right and the sucessful candidate needs to be able to pick it up and run with it.
Ideally for me a young, dynamic graduate and someone who may see it as stepping stone maybe into senior sports management in football or a top four SL club while moving us forward in the process to the next level.
One we can't afford to get wrong this appointment IMO we can't afford to go back to the past.

Well I think the other way, need someone experienced who has "been there, done that"........not some jumped up "Jack the lad" who knows nowt, and will use it as a stepping stone to get a bigger gig.........then its back to square one!
