I agree with reffy, at least in part. Can't blame any player for retaliating to the incident, but there's retaliation and then Haggerty windmilling half of the Fax team. For what it's worth, it'll take an age to analyse and the brawl isn't anything close in severity to the initial attack. Cracking game though and a tremendous testament that the lads came through it.

Well this is tough but I agree Matt.

Our team has now been involved in three major brawls this season - Halifax twice, and Featherstone away. I believe the referee in all three games was the same one.

Now, obviously, refs don't start, or participate in, brawls! However, they should know how to handle players, to prevent this sort of thing escalating. Compare these three episodes with the two of our games Ben Thaler has officiated at this season - Featherstone, (at home) and Leeds last week. Just one flare up in 160 minutes, and that was dealt with swiftly and correctly, without any further trouble.

Wasn't helped much by his flag wavers though Alan last night they had the eyes of hawks on some occasions and blind as bats on others.

Nowhere did I say that retaliation is out of order, it is however punishable, but that last night when far beyond retaliation, next you will be on suggesting that no punches were thrown by Leigh players. It does need two teams brawling otherwise it would look like shadow boxing.

The referee had a shocker as will be confirmed on CTV he didn't control the mess but he didn't cause it.

Deliberately taking players out off the ball isn't roughing up tactics, it's just trying to hurt someone.
