I don't know exactly Matt, but I would think that there were are a lot of players that have been bought from Camp or Champ 1 by SL clubs and then sent out on DCs to Champ Clubs. What I am saying is it is not the end of the line that happening to Sam. He is still very young. I cannot believe that Wigan have invested in a player to just farm him out.

Fair point, but I don't think he arrived at Wigan with quite the same expectations as Hoppy.

Last season is so last season. Workington will be one of those seven or eight clubs who need to make sure they are not in the bottom 5 come the end of the season. Leigh, on the other end, will have fallen well below expectations if they don't make the Top 2. In a nutshell, Leigh have gone forwards while Sam has gone backwards.

I know it's easy to say in hindsight he should never have left.

I was speaking to someone knows Sam and Shaun Wane well (work that one out) and he said he thought from day one that Sam's nature is too laid back whereas Shaun Wane is more or less at 100% intensity all the time and would probably count against him.

Sam did really well against us in the friendly and he will get his chance, I hope !

You loan players you do not need, you DR players you may need.
That sounds like Wane is either giving him a chance or is going to ruin him as something has gone badly wrong

Lets not be to harsh on young Sam , I for one would have him back at Leigh anytime ,I spoke to him this week in Total Fitness at Wigan , and he seemed happy , he was training with the Full Squad ,and looking good ,as for being laid back ?Sometimes that's a plus , its called Chill Time by the younger ones , I hope Sam is a success at Wigan but if not would welcome him back anytime .

Shaun Wane won't start ruining youngsters now. He never has. Just look at the team they have now. Pivotal players at just the start of their careers. Sam's still only at the start of his so just have confidence that Mr Wane will give him his chance in that #29 shirt. But until then he will need to keep playing instead of benchwarming. Won't be long until he's in red and white again. Admittedly in with the wrong badge.

I said at time he left 1 or 2 years to early. When hill left he was the best forward both at leigh and the championship, imo sam wasnt even the best forward at leigh last season. I wish him only the best, just think he ill advised to jump ship as early as he did.

Wane has stated he will probably be going out on loan as he is not ready yet.

I don't like the DR system, especially as we're all basically in the same competition again but we can hardly moan too much about it. Would we have secured the services of Tom Spencer had he not played so much for us last season??

Tom was on loan, means a min 4 week period. DR means come and go at will

People are forgetting that Hill signed for Warrinton and was then loaned back to Leigh for the remainder of the 2011 season. It was that combination of full time training and championship football which made him able to step up to the top flight in the manner which he did.

Wigan know how to develop and nurture talent and wouldn't have just signed him on a whim. If he works hard and is patient Wane will give him his chance.
