It is incredible,i was told tuesday evening to go ahead and book my flight,all the players had been told it was friday night and those who needed to,had to make arraignments with their employers.
With seats going and fairs rising i went ahead and booked!..i don't know whats happened,but theres obviously been some sort of tiff.

The board need their heads banging together.

The longer they take to decide the harder it will be for myself and others to book time off work! Fingers crossed it get announced tomorrow otherwise I'm struggling to go.

People need to have some respect as today I would imagine all of the clubs board and management would have been at Arthurs funeral, give um time...............

Should have had it sorted by Wednesday the latest and by all accounts it would of been if it wasn't for Leigh, rejecting Wigan's suggestions.

As a coach at a local amateur club I was advised that communication had come from John Duffy that anyone buying tickets with an involvement in an amatuer club that the cost will be £10 per adult and £5 per child.

Whilst I can understand the vast majority associated with Leigh at board level would be rightly paying respects today at Arthurs funeral I think its fair to say I'm gobsmacked it wasn't sorted (or failed to agree on) within 1 hour of it being announced, in days of instant communication its frankly inept.
This is just one of the many reasons RL is a minority sport and whilst its easy to blame the RFL for all the games ills (and they need blaming for many) you could say if two clubs who are partners are incapable of agreeing such a simple thing such as a Kick off date and admission costs then there is little hope.

If the two clubs couldnt agree , then the RFL have to sort it and they will, we cant annouce anything if weve nothing to annouce.
Why does everyone alway think its Leigh fault.

Because this time it is. The buzz the draw created is dwindling by the hours due to lack of communication and people thinking along the lines of "if Wigan and Leigh can't be bothered to sort it out, why should I be bothered to sort out my shift patterns, family and social life around the game."

Communication is key and a word on twitter, the website and Facebook could have read along the lines of...........

"Regretfully after long negotiations with our counterparts at Wigan Warriors we have been unable to come up with a suitable kick off date that satisfies both parties interests.
The next step in this process is the RFL become involved and look at both clubs concerns and requests , The RFL have said they will give us there ruling by 09:00hrs on Friday 12th April.
Whilst we at Leigh Centurions apologise and understand this will affect some of our fans plans in arranging to attend this fixture I'm sure you'll all agree we beLEIGHve its in our best interests to get the best deal for our club"

All book the weekend off and make a weekend of it, is there an hotel at Wigan Pier?
It then doesnt matter what day we play

Why ? Announcement tomorrow 9am what's the worry ? Should it be a week on Friday or a week on Sunday you will have plenty of time to make arrangements if you want to go.

Can't understand the fuss as when we know everyone has more than a week to get a ticket or just pay on the day if anyone really wants to go.

I shall be at Fax on Sunday and have plans for the next few days. Guess I am lucky I do not have to plan my life for more than one week from now.

Seems to me travel arrangements to a town some 7 miles away take a lot of organising for some.

While I agree with what you're saying Frank, the point that most are making about the delay in an announcement is that it reduces the time in which the fixture can be 'marketed'. Now, some might say that a W*gan v Leigh cup game should sell itself, but a bit of promotion will always help. And, for those without the luxury of time on their hands - shift workers, those outside the area (even those, like PNE, outside the country!), and those who can only get to the ticket office at weekends - the chance to plan properly is not too much to ask!!

The longer it takes to organize this fixture the less will show. Folks have another life outside rugby league as my missus has just informed me we are going out next Friday
