| Ironically after our CEO has just spent some time talking down the rivalry with Wigan he now rapidly needs to start talking it up again so Leigh can maximise the support for this fixture.
Lets be honest 98% of Leigh fans don't like Wigan Warriors at any level regardless of what our board think so this should be a easy sell and realistically both clubs might make some money early in the draw.
I'm not sure Leigh would take anything like the support they took in SL as things have changed so much for our club (not least in the last 12 months) but the aim should be a realistic pricing structure to make it attractive to the Pie Eaters to come and watch and not too expensive for Leigh fans to kill off the dream and replace it with the reality that nobody wants to pay a fortune to watch what could be a very one sided game.
For me though the costs should be known tonight / first thing tomorrow and then the club should hammer this home to the Leigh public , call it 'Operation DW takeover' or suchlike to use as a moniker to drum up support - let the Leigh public buy into the idea that we will get one over the old enemy whatever it be in either supporter numbers, outsinging, or players giving 100% effort, we need to create a 'them & us' and use it to our advantage).

Charlie thinks this a good draw for us , hopefully a good crowd ,good performance from the lads , an end to the Negative feelings on this Forum , and an easing of our Financial problems with a shared gate .

| I wonder how well Wigan fans will support it? Early rounds of the Challenge Cup have been pathetically supported in recent years by all clubs and this one really needs to be marketed - by BOTH clubs. It'll be interesting to see what sort of team Wigan will select - like all SL clubs, they have a history of giving the youngsters a run out in the CC. Of course, if they do that, it might get interesting!

| Think 1000 to 1500 is a reasonable target. I've not been all season and may make an effort for this one - and they'll put 60 odd past us, but what the heck

| Think you're about right there Col. We took just over 3,000 in 2005 so no chance we'd take the 5,000 needed to fill the stand. We can only do as much as talk it up though and do our bit.

| I think this is a great draw, especially in the context of recent events. Would think a minimum crowd of 10,000, a couple of thousand from Leigh - will get fire back in the bellies of some. A lot better than London away or Fev, Wakefield, Hudds etc...

| A share of a 12k gate would be brill. I can see us bringing 1500 at least. The hatred I had for Wigan went along time ago, and both clubs get on well. Like Leeds last year, would like a couple of quality tries to cheer !! 50-70k in our coffers will do nicely, and would not surprise me if Leneghan gave us more !

| I think we'll be looking at 6,000-8,000 Wiganers being on so a crowd of 10,000+ will be dependant on how many you guys bring with you.
I'd have preferred it at your place tbh, the atmosphere would have been jumping with a full house in.

No chance, the casual pie fan will swerve this one, i'd go with 8000, with 2000 travelling support!

I think more Wigan fans will attend than has become the norm for the Challenge Cup early rounds and I do not think Shaun Wane will field a team of youngsters. It will probably be the first team with a couple of young players in the 17.
