| I found out yesterday too. Really gutted. Lloyd was a great coach and not many would have put a 6ft 3 Centre playing hooker when Rowley broke his ankle. He even gave me player of the year ! The memories of him bellowing on the touchline along with his dad will live with me forever. We will all mis his humour and his cheeky smile. RIP pal. Another great coach who has inflenced so many quality players in WN7.

| Gutted to hear the news about Lloyd, Legend of a man and had a massive influence on a lot of local lads growing up and in their rugby career, He would make you feel 10 foot tall and make you believe you could do anything, great coach and he knew how to get the best out of players and teams, always remember playing for the u13s town team at Wigan and he got us so pumped up just before the game started he told us all when we win run over to him because everyone will be praising him not us because he was a rugby league legend and friend to the stars!!!
RIP Pal
Thoughts are with all the family

| Lloyd was unique ,a good friend to many with a marvelous sense of humour and a big heart.
There are countless number of people who come on here who will have experienced some real good memories .
i have my own personal memories which will live with me forever but i will focus on Lloyd the coach , both my lads were priviliged to benefit from his coaching abilities along with his brother Stu .
Without a shadow of a doubt he was the best motivator of kids i have ever seen, he had the special ability to make every member of the team feel special despite their abilty and every kid got a fair crack of the whip.
Many players including present first team players at the centurians will be reading these tributes thinking fondly of a great coach and look back on how he helped them on their way.
I worked with Lloyd for many years down at the Miners and with Mr Howarth and the Leigh schools town teams and we organised tours to France with the Miners and South Wales with the schools .
The French trip was amazing for us all and we took two squads over who took the South of France by storm and those memories will last for ever, but the best tour was the short tour to South Wales the origin of his father Bob when we took Leigh schoolboys town team to play a couple of matches and under Lloyds leadership the Little Leythers put on a show of champagne rugby agaist older tough opposition another great week end for all involved.
Lloyd always with a smile on his face and a wink of the eye told all the players that he was " Lloyd Pugsley Living Legend " well now mate in many minds you are a legend , thanks for being a great frend and mentor to many kids.
God Bless mate GONE TO SOON xxx

| our under 18s team played a cup final at Hull K R a few years ago. Most players were apprehensive travelling over the M62 to the match.Lloyd (the manager) stood up and handed every player a little note. I read it and it really did show the compassion he had for everyone. The letterdidnt ask for anyone to knock seven bells out of the KR players but to just savour the match and enjoy themeselves. I wish i had kept a copy as a momemto, but too late. Lloyd was a great coach and humourist which everyone knows RIP mate and condolences to his family and friends. Leigh are losing too many friends at the moment so please god show a little compassion to us Leythers.
ex academy secretary.
