| Thank You to both Alan and Demon for their replies.
I can completely understand TV games being moved, however I find it difficult to accept that the RFL will dictate our game days and could insist that (purely as an example) a Sunday 3pm Leigh v Halifax game is switched to a Friday night game.

| That would depend on whether anyone objects to the draft fixtures.

| Sundays seem to be the best all round. Do you think the club tried to play some of the top teams on a friday evening last year to try and disrupt the opponents flow? Maybe if the opponents were having to travel from Yorkshire, M62 is a pain in the early evening as we all know and if some of them have had to work in the morning / early afternoon first perhaps? Might sound like having a minimal impact but im sure things like thay may come into consideration.

I think players at Championship level these days tend to have a healthy relationship with their employers with regards to time off etc when you consider the TV games plus when clubs other than ourselves also play on Friday nights etc. We could do with working out a way to disrupt Fev's flow though (and Sheffield in play off games!)

| One thing puzzles me having looked at the Spectator Survey, and that is despite what I read on the message board and the general perception, according to the survey, on average, Sunday had lower attendances, than Fridays, Thursday having the highest, there is even a little graph to demonstrate it.
It is also interesting to note that just over 3/4 of people completing the survey prefered Sundays, but the attendance figures just don't support it.
I can see this one rumbling on for some time, and just for clarification, I'm also one of those people that prefer Sundays, but I haven't been a naysayer about Fridays, I believe the club has to do what it has to do to keep going forward and if that if Friday as well as Sunday games, so be it.

Does seem strange and I'm not sure how the survey comes to that conclusion.
Between 2006 and 2011 when the data is collected what Fri night games have we played in the league as I can't remember any ?
So I wonder is the data in the survey classing the Bank Holiday Friday fixtures as higher averages or the TV games moved to Thursdays (which usually see's our most attractive fixture played/moved).
For me its only when you do like for like league fixtures that you get a true picture so roughly we probably lost around £18,000 in gate money from the attendance drop in 3 like for like fixtures last season from the season previous with a same win/loss ratio than the previous season (2 fixtures moved Sunday to Friday and 1 moved Thursday to Friday).
I think the move to Sunday will hopefully start to halt our small attendance slide but equally its not just Fridays that cost us to lose fans last season, lots of things out of the clubs control have happened with many fans fed up with how RL has been run.
The club will need to recognise that element of (pretty loyal) fans that have left and try and get them back as missing the RL 'fix' will bite some of them but just as important we need to get much needed new and young support in.
Equally as much talk next season focussing on purely our league, our players and on field events perhaps not focus on the I BeLeighve/ SL plans as much - have it in the background as its our ultimate goal but lets get the groundwork right first and ensure we are the best Championship club on & off the park next season with a increase in support that with playing on a choosen 'match day' can hopefully help us achieve.

| With more people picking and chosing games more than before you could analyse a little deeper and look at who we played on the Friday's and who the Sunday fixtures were against. Will that help in this discussion? I don't know because i haven't looked.......yet.

| That's a fair point. It wouldn't have mattered to fans who attend all or most matches but it would have affected the fans who choose to attend the more attractive games. Most of the Sunday home game were in the less attractive category so the gate suffered in comparison.

So do I. The game could be built up in town during the day with pre-match activities at the ground - good time for food stalls etc in a marquee.
But why is Saturday NEVER mentioned when discussing options. Trevor has said previously that the hospitality was brilliant last time against the French team and the gate was above average so I can't understand why we don't at least try a few.

I'm a traditionalist who prefers Sunday 3pm KO's but do you know what? I would not mind if the club came out and said 'We have tried Fridays so for a trial we will establish if our fans would support us with Saturday 6.30pm for the 2013 season to try something new and then review for 2014 season'

Have to say that if the club want to trial a day if we do have a problem fitting in all our fixtures on Sundays (can't see why that would be the case in fairness) then Saturday 6.30PM KO seems a good option to trial (certainly in Summer) as it seemingly ticks more boxes than Fridays at 8PM...
- Corporates seemingly like Saturdays.
- It can still ensure we have a active Junior Supporter club to build up as more young Children can attend a early evening kick off.
- It gives the players/coach part of a weekend off that they have asked for (Surely thats a wind up !)
- It isn't a rush home from work for a lot of people.
- It helps attract away support or fans of other clubs.
- It doesn't clash with any other major sporting event on TV or live.
- It gives the club a opportunity to use the time leading up to the match as 'part of the event' in effect making the match the main entertainment in a day of events to help
maximise the revenue that can be generated to the club and its partners (pre match activities entertainment and perhaps a reserve grade game etc, etc).
