| Was he the cabin boy for Captain Pugwash ? Mind you my dad always said that cartoon was full of double meanings and refused to let my mam watch it in case she became over frisky  He did like his darts though which has nothing to do with it.
In answer to the original post however it might be because he is a former Minister of Sport who does not travel to the House of Commons by taxi unlike our current Chancellor of the Exchequer who does not live too far from Warrington.  |

Loads of urban myths surrounding Pugwash - all wrong!!
There were never characters called [i'Roger the cabin boy', 'Master Bates', or 'Seaman Staines'[/i........and the series was not canned because the ship was called [i"The Black Pig"[/i, and it offended the PC brigade!!
