There are apps for kindle on ipad, pc and android devices just go to the amazon kindle page, the one on my pc works fine.

I had a query via PM from somebody on how to format a book for Kindle, but that person has disabled their PM reply, so I cannot help them! Could that person re-enable or send me an email direct to mapleyther@hotmail.com and I would be delighted to help.
