You know we don't want it to be like that, but until they change the funding of the whole game and stop giving TV rights away for nothing, and the SL naming rights away for nothing, it can't work any other way. The only real qualification an applicant must have now is the financial ability to cope with superleague. However with the average SL club losses runninng at 300-400K per season, how on earth can they use financial ability as a criteria.

We have ' qualified ' to apply already, if we think it's a good idea is another question ? , personally I wouldn't bother, and I'd definatly not want to be used as Fax were just to make the process ' credible ' |

I know we already qualify to apply, I was meaning why should we just leave it open to fev, if we are also winning things on the pitch, when in some other areas we appear better?
Is it a good idea to apply? In life everyone should try to be the best they can, if being the best of the second tier is the best we can be then so be it, but it will take some selling to the Leigh public and especially if we want to grow. It's a case of damned if we do damned if we don't. |

Fev qualified last time, but decided not to apply, because 1 ,it was obvious Widnes had been given the nod, 2 if their bid was then to be compared to current SL clubs, they couldn't win
So Fax were convinced by the RFL that their bid would be treated seriously, then it wasn't and a smear campaign was launched against them when they made their feelings public about it
I want us to apply when they cannot refuse |
