I must admit though, the lack of promotion and relegation was obviously the reason for the global economic crash and the resulting financial problems Arthur Thomas had. Everyone knows that.

The reason I've not been posting recently is that I'm completely fecked off with all the doomsayers on here... the same vociferous handful of people who have done nothing but slag the game off for as long as I can remember. TBH its got boring. You're wrong, but I'll never convince you of that... That's fine though, I can live with that knowledge.

Next season will be a great opportunity to blood in some 'real' Leigh youngsters from our local sides, without having to pay them top buck

I too would prefer a local coach with a good track record of bringing the best out of players.

Miners and East should embrace this opportunity with Leigh. We have two fantastic amateur RL teams and it is now time to bond and gel as a RL Town.

I will gladly get a ST next season with my little lad to watch 17 Leigh kids get their opportunity to shed blood, sweat and tears for their local club win, lose or draw.

I just love the fact that there is no promotion to Super League, you have to be selected by the RFL. IT'S BRILLIANT.
There is so much to play for. I mean, there is a league without promotion, and then there is the northern rail cup.
I'm really amazed that we can't find any any investors, well just one would do. I mean teams in the championship have so much to play for, Franchising is the future, and I love it !!!!!

C'mon fella's don't give up! Yes it's very frustrating... another day drags on, another negative rumour about a coach or that someone else is about to sign for Swinton... thats getting pretty boring to.

We've been down this road so many time. When ever we have a good period, we go bust, bankrupt or into administrarion or what ever. Yes its tough to take, we might have a rough season or two, but the pheonix will rise from the ashes again, we'll all get excited, think we can go into Super League and then proabably bust again

It's the rollercoaster that is know as being a Leigh fan so buckle in.

Glen i would love nothing more BUT the way i see it with this "Potential" coach we are getting i fear a team made up of 2nd rate W*ganers just like in the Ian Lucas era

Looks like I might be getting my wish , 17 leythers coached by a Leyther , but either way I will support whoever puts on the shirt

Convince me Nik , tell me how we motivate our existing fan base , and the other 1,500/2,000 we need to break even to come and watch Leigh Centurions for the next few years ?

Perhaps it is time that Leigh Centurions embraced Miners and East!!

I think there is only you and one other on here who support everything RFL. Oh and that tool from Warrington. Has the penny not dropped yet. This game is in a bad place the figures for the CC final ( the true ones) and the up coming internationnals will prove that. But then you will turn round and blame economic crisis.
