| I dont see how you can blame the RFL for this at all.
As soon as something goes wrong, or in hindsight could have gone better, its not, by default a cock up by the RFL.

| Simple Jimmy 16k seats, and we have 9k sell out 19 days before the event only the RFL can achieve this. I'd also imagine on most sporting events the 10 day run up is the most active selling period along side the first few days of sales

Do you in all honesty believe that this game would `ve achieved a 16K sell out?.........

| No but it's obvious we can sell more than 9k so why stop???Basically so far we have just sold a little more than our average crowd I'd expect us to at least sell 3.5k and fax the same. Disappointing that the Rfl have capped this crowd at 9k

| Is it the RFL or the Blackpool club/authorities that has 'capped the crowd'?

Not too sure it`s the RFL who have set the limit on the crowd, maybe Blackpool are doing refurbs to increase their capacity. If we achieve 9k this year won`t that be a record?

| all we can do as clubs is sell out our allocations! if people are locked out its the RFL that look daft, i for one would quite enjoy seeing them redfaced again.
10 days left and not many left by all accounts! gonna be awesome!

| Not sure but I'd also be amazed if that temp stand holds 7k so the Rfl maths are as the franchise system!!

| It is a tough one, I can fully understand the RFL expecting 9,000 to be a realistic target so if BFC told them that there was a crowd limit they probably thought it would be ample as over 9,000 hasn't been reached since Cas played Hull KR.
The down side is its looking increasingly likely that the record gate for this fixture could have been broken and both Leigh , Halifax (and the RFL) could have made a few quid more !
The week before usually sees a big surge for games such as this (underlined by the fact Leigh have started selling merchandise, people are talking about it etc, etc.).
Without looking in the ground I've no idea what work is going on , however AFAIK the work is in our stand (Jimmy Armfield South) and the South side of the East stand as they are 'filling in the corners'.
I presume there must be other work ongoing as otherwise they would surely have sold any further tickets in sections of the East stand nearer the North side of the ground.
The temp East stand is not what many people think, indeed it was fit for Premier league football so is a lot better than the last time we visited Bloomfield rd !

| Once again, I question the reasoning behind taking the game to Blackpool. Last time we were there, in the final, the stadium looked like a bombed out site in Beirut - a wonderful national advert for RL! If the capacity is restricted to 9,000, why take a major (in our league) final there in the first place?
Should have been played at LSV!

Look at the sponsors. They advertise a day out in Blackpool all over the rail network. I'm happy with Blackpool, it's a break from the norm and if it's good enough for Man Utd, Arsenal and all the other wendyball billionaires it's good enough for two little Rugby League towns from the north.

Blackpool all the way for me Alan, shame about the limited att but it should be great day/weekend for everyone.
If the att is back to normal soon i would also take the grand final there.

Totally agree, Blackpool despite all its tackiness makes it feel like an occasion, any other venue and people would just turn up for the game.
