Quote: Alan "Don't think that had much to do with 'turmoil' at the club. We looked jaded and 'fax took us apart. Let them play, and they will! A few players took knocks on Sunday and didn't have sufficient time to recover. 'Fax had a 'rest' last weekend and looked well up for it.
Not sure whether us 'winning' the second half was as a result of our improved defence, or 'Fax 'declaring' at half time! Their ambition to attack stopped at the interval.
On the subject of players carrying knocks, I must applaud John Duffy. When I spoke to him yesterday morning (Wed) he could hardly walk. Goodness knows how he got on the pitch, let alone played his heart out. Well done 'Duufs'!'"
From the Millward interview he basically said from a playing point of view the best team won and that Fax was a very good team and he predicted it would be a very tough game for Leigh, he also said the players had been payed on Monday so they shouldn't have been affected in what was going on off field.
He said his own workload had changed and had been affected (or words to that effect, not exact quoting him) but he hoped it hadn't shown through when speaking to the players.
