thatsprobably one of the reasons why he rested the maden,our backs will get through a shed load of work friday. we'll try to tire their props so we can then make big dents on their big lads. i expect gov and duffs will run alot from dummy half aswell to catch them offside

with Nanyn added to the injury list it doesn't leave us many options

Saw Nanyn tonight, turning up for training and I asked him was he playing he said he didnt know yet. So he not exactly ruled out as yet.

If Nanyn doesn't play could Pownall make an appearance either on the wing and Maden to centre or at FB and Donlan at centre?

At the moment Ricky Murphy is the on form reserve back, though Pownall is a class act and is very versatile but I doubt 'basil' will pick such an inexperienced player V a SL side.

I doubt it to Fred, but Basil's been known to throw in the odd surprise, and blood some youngster in key games especially when you consider, what has he really got to lose?

Adding a back Murphy/Pownall or a.n.other allows him to keep the 'Three Musketeers' in place to try and keep control of the French pack.

Plus isn't Pownall a good replacement kicker? With the ref we've got this could also be key.

replacement kickers? we have two already in Riddy and Ellis so not really a worry on that front

No problems with either of those kicking, other than whilst Nanyn's kicking there's often a team talk or instructions from the side lines and as you'd expect they're both often heavily involved in it, but I do think he'll play his most experienced side available, I was just throwing in other options.

not to mention Duffy & Gov but tbf I always feel confident when big Mick is taking the conversions & his awesome kick offs are great tools to use hopefully we'll see him playing tonight
