Now now play nicely, spelling or syntax errors are made by most if not all of us at some time or another, pointing them out only leads to petty bickering.

I thought the initial thread was about the panel ,my point expands the initial post .The RFL sets guidlines for the community game but does not adhere to it at the proffessional game its double standards .

The RFL,s disciplinary panel should be leading by example .

I agree, when a SL player gets a fine and a letter for swearing at a ref and a local discipline panel is suppose to ban a player for 8 matches for the same offence thats where double standards comes in and another example of unfairness in Rugby League.
I can see the reason for this expanded main discipline panel is to allow more panels to sit more often and it doesn't do any harm to have a diversity of people on any sort of judicial panel.

You know where I am coming from Fred having been on panels yourself its frustrating when as you point out an amatuer player is treated different to a pro, when we are supposed to be working to the same Bible.
What is the saying " Do as I say not what I do " should be the new RFL motto.

The punishments handed out by the NCL are way over the top when compared to the Pro game.

That and a recent bout of ill health was one of the main reasons I couldn't continue on the NWC discipline panel anymore, it was crazy some of the 'punishments' we were supposed to 'award' when it appeared the pro's were getting away with lesser penalties, it also looks sometimes as if the semi-pro's are treated more harshly than the full timers.

Brett McDermott of Barrow has been suspended for 6 matches following 2 separate incidents in their game against York. 4 matches for stamping and 2 for punching.

And did he do the full 80 mins of the game?

He certainly lasted until at least the 70th min because that's when the stamping incident occurred
