Second home the gym: |
|
| Quote: TV BOY "Your right j.c. and so is Frank. Maybe the Leigh carnival that gets a fair few people down could be a place for the club to show that it is or can be a massive part of the Leigh and district community. If all the die hards gathered for a walk around our area that would be an eye opener. 1500 fans shouting and singing in the streets with the flags and banners like the old community marches that were posted on here a bit ago would make locals sit up and listen. Bring back the communitry spirit that the tories quashed. Bring back that old mining and spinning mill comunity spirit. Whose nicked my glass of red wine?'"
Personally i think that is a good idea, if we could make it work, apart from people on this MB don't know how we could let other Leythers know though.

| i know quite a few casuals / lapsed speccies who wont go, because , as happened at sundays game against dewsbury, they dont want to queue for their ticket for 20 odd minutes.
as one lad i know pointed out on sunday, who doesn't go that often, its very hard for the staff to hear the speccies requirements through the glass, and just causes it to slow down.
not just a problem at lsv though, as the salford select few also had the same problem on sunday at wrexham, sad fact , the combined gate was just over 4000 for the two games.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity
Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike
SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!:9005.jpg |

Utter bollox , they just dont have the balls to say that they cant be bothered and would rather stay in the pub and get ed
Unfortunatley todays ' blame ' culture dictataes they have to have an excuse that absolves them from being lazy gets , you watch , when they put pay on the gate signs up , it will be the price of the beer and pies , they will always find an excuse
The so called ' lapsed/ex ' fan will never return , they are gone , too lazy to go anywhere any more , they are ' armchair fans ' , the future for any club outside SL is the juniors , they still have the energy to move

| How in the name of god is queueing for a ticket any excuse for not going to the game? Rubbish. I queue for a ticket on the odd occasion that I havn't got chance to get my ticket in the week. All you have to do is get there early and then go back across to the Park Inn if you want a beer.

Unfortunatly its right.
For a country that queues quite professionally (compared to our European cousins) we generally avoid it.
Thus I can now check in for a flight from home , purchase a ticket for a train from home etc, etc, all use a selling point of avoiding the queues and ease of passage(amongst others).
I think the club need to think a little differently how we sell tickets if people are using the excuse or complaining about it (as a club that wants more fans in), perhaps we should look at alternate venues pre matchday which will assist the Ticket office on matchdays and assist our more less "able" supporters to purchase a ticket.
To use a example (and this is from someone who isn't really fussed about waiting 5mins for a ticket at the office).
Many years ago (when RL was a sport ) I used to travel to away games on the club coaches , I purchased my ticket for the coach from a Local Newsagent in Atherton (where I lived) as it was easy and convenient , usually a couple of days before.
If I'd had to go to Leigh to do it I wouldn't have bothered as it was out of my way , paying on the day was something I didn't want to do (as that money may have already been spent on the saturday night out ) and anyhow I don't think it was allowed.
As it was Leigh (or the coach company) got my money because they made it easy for me the "customer" to buy a ticket.
Make it easier (and lets be honest "selling" Leigh as something worth watching isn't going to get any easier with recent developments) and we may gain a few.
Could we not get ASDA or some of the Bigger town centre newsaganets to sell some for us and maybe entice some people who have only viewed the LSV's through the weeds and trees from the bypass

theres a level of trust needed isnt there.adult, kiddies, oap's and other concessionary tickets need to be sold to the right people or it could cost the club a small fortune
i would have a test run at scrum down under and finnesse if they're willing.
having said that its not a club problem is it?,its the LSV.

Thats correct Fred , We turn up at !-40 and park the car , then send my big brother for the tickets while I take his wonky donkey wife to the Easts and get the beer in , He's back in 5 minutes , a couple of pints and into the West Stand and never had a problem
Jobs a goood un just get there a bit earlier as there's plenty watering holes around the ground

| We can have cash turnstyles and have indeed had them.
When demand outstrips supply you have a value on the ticket, 20% full stadia all ticket is a joke.
Advertise cash turnstyles and offer tickets purchased before gameday at a £2 reduction to incentivise pre purchase.
Next week should be free for the first 5500, to get our average to 2500

| here's an idea for you !!! why dont we give every player u12 at miners/easts/goulbourne
a free ticket or a ticket for a quid, with every paying adult, all kids playing junior rugby ( & how many are there at these clubs upto about u12s ) want to go & watch pro rugby, that would get our average gate up. the club should incentive's in front of people to entice them to come & watch.
