It was a really enjoyable evening up at the Mount tonight, fans from Batley (obviously), Catalans (not quite as obvious), Leigh, Wiggin, Leeds, Halifax, Swinton, Huddersfield (bloody loads of 'em in fact), Wakefield, Castleford, Bradford, Hull FC, Hull KR and Fev by my reckoning!

Don't be fooled by the scoreline either, Batley were well in it at 12-26 early in the second half but they literally went for about 20 minutes without touching the ball. As you can imagine, Catalans' huge set of forwards were quite literally unstoppable when going down the hill. They had a huge amount of bad luck in the first half where virtually nothing would bounce right for them, and the Dragons are more than capable of making sides pay for any mistakes.

A big day for Batley though and one that wouldn't have had without the cup.

MAKES YOU WONDER HOW MUCH IT TAKES OUT OF A TEAM THOUGH, (sorry about caps) for me we have not been the the same since the Bradford game

Our season was all but destroyed after our "draw" with Castleford last year.

Bar the mad twenty minutes in the second half, I don't think we did too badly the following week against the Smogs, Fred?

The supporters of Super League teams also forget that the Championship teams are part time also and the energy expended to compete on the same level is huge.

After the fixtures we have had since the Easter period I am surprised we have only lost 2 games ( 1 against Super League opposition and 1 against the top team).
I just hope we can keep the confidence and momentum going to carry on upsetting a few people. I must say that I am just glad to see entertaining rugby and look forward to each game as it comes !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if we are still treading water like we we're against haven then we'll get beat.
for me it was the most tired performance so far this season.
lets hope with a full week off the players have managed to relax a bit.
its a pity about RP though we could have done with his experiance tomorrow.
