She is the best leader this country has ever had, can't believe lazy miners and familes are still moaning, can't wait for Cameron to be PM and sort out the lazy slobs that do nothing but spounge from the state.

Well I'm laughing at your opinions then....you write and spell like someone who wasn't old enough to know what went on then. Maybe I am wrong? I don't disagree that anyone who is actually sponging off the state should be brought to account, but you sound like a bigot who has decided to tar everyone with the same brush. And if you think being a miner was for lazy people, then you are way off.

She carries on through it all...... She's a Waterfall:

Lazy miners??? You ignorant bigioted oaf!
But as this is the sort of post you've become known for - it's probably the response you seek. Some kind of kick-back from pre-empting a response from your provocative statement. It's an responsive affective disorder. But I doubt you'll have any insight into that. They usually don't.

The problem to those of us who remember the odd quality shop in Leigh is that another pound shop is what the majority of Leigh shoppers want.

Absolutely spot on lad. eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif eusa_clap.gif Not to mention that ridiculous "dispute" in 1981 which led to so many deaths over a hellhole in the South Atlanic just so she could regain her "popularity" when the inhabithants of that hell hole could safely have been relocated to a much better climate in New Zealand.

Oh yeh there might be oil there. icon_rolleyes.gif Course this country is a lot better for that isn't it ?

Quote: peawapp "just been in Town and theyr'e working on the old Woolies and the sign above the door reads Poundland. bloody brilliant just what we need another bloody pound shop, this Town of ours is rapidly going to the dogs.'"

I walked past the new pound shop (which looks better being used than boarded up) and who was in front campaigning for the next election but the Labor lot, the nerve. Who were the ones to allow the railway closure in Leigh and the abolishment of local democracy?
But having said that who will get in?

....and not forgetting her military defence cuts which invited a war. With a desparate dictator seeking glory of taking the malvinas under Argy control to keep him in power, Thatch signals to them to invade by taking away its only defence - removing HMS Endurance from protecting the islands . We then had the embarressment of having to patch up our armed forces that simply was not ready for such a conflict away from our shores - ie loss of too many lives, and ships because of defence cuts etc. We even had the USA ready to bail us out with air craft carriers. This against a tinpot army of unmotivated reluctant conscripts.
Brave people lost their lives unnecessary and Thatch became the hero, and given even more power with a landslide election. The government had the warnings but you don't hear much about it apart from how Britain rules the waves.

Her biggest battle was with the Foreign Office who were, to a man, against any conflict whatsoever. Thankfully she had more balls than any of them.

Agree. But her government did not recognise the threat even though they was made fully aware. That war could have been a complete embarressment and even more costly if it wasn't for the brave armed forces fighting with arms behind their backs. We was totally unprepared for such a war, and it was totally avoidable.
