I presumbe Bradford play on Friday evenings thus the decision to play it then

Pity we couldn't have tried to get/got the Bulls go for a Saturday evening kick off as some kind of compromise which gives Bradford a chance to try something different to get in fans in a match which is unattractive to them and us a chance to get a few more fans up there.

In fact CC games should be 3PM Sunday unless on TV IMO if the game wants the competition to be treated seriously (the attraction of a cup game is a upset, would Barrow have beaten Cas with a 8pm KO on a friday night ), Full Time v Part Time gets even more of a advantage by doing these things, its not a SL fixture so some players will need to finish work early for many clubs outside the top flight.

thats a real pity..will significantly lower the away support...

The main priority for us is the Widnes game the following week, by playing this on the Friday night, we get more rest.

After what the team has just endured to fulfill the last fixture and put in a performance to ensure we're in the next round surely most of us can make the trip to Bradford, even if it is a Friday night.

well i'll be finishing work early to make sure i get the coach to bradford & i'll be doing the same for the widnes game even though its at home so i can go to the park inn & have a few quality beers before hand.

the support will be less, but probably not that much. Hasn't put me off anyway.

What a bad decision, thats 3 of us not going now

Perhaps Bradford think that they will get a bigger total crowd on a friday night given that on sunday it is the final round of the premiership football season (season deciders perhaps). I would have thought that the home team team chooses the date & time of the match.

It has to be agreed by the two clubs and the RFL, but I think both have certainly got an eye on the recovery time before their next games when choosing to play on the Friday.

A poor decision by whoever agreed to it on behalf of Leigh IMO.
Quite a few quid will be lost off a shared gate as I would have expected Leigh to take there biggest away following for 5 years to this game building on the recent momentum/feel good factor.
Equally I would imagine a few Bradford fans would have looked at this as a potential banna skin worth turning up to watch or at the very least a close match until the last 10mins.

For future games I think the RFL need to stipulate that if you have part time v full time in the CC the game must be on a saturday or sunday to at least allow players who work to perform to there best and fans who want to watch what usually is the clubs biggest fixture of the year the chance to get to it.

what a steaming pile of s%%t this decison is, if we have agreed to it we deserve everything w eget, friday night in bradford just fooking brilliant, can you tell i am a wee bit pis&&d off with this.

But the priority out of the two games that week is the Widnes game, so if the two days extra preparation is the difference needed to beat the Smoggies then so be it, I reckon.
