Quote: Dick Jones "Coming to the game today, was told my an old fella, ( all be it, hes a true fan) that the reseves presentation had been stopped, by the first team coach, sorry but I find this all untrue, why would Paul stop it? H|es no reason too.'"

Can't disagree about the presentation, it cheapened the entire thing.

Each one of those lads should have been welcomed onto the field individually and the cup presented even if they collected it from the stand like the Cup Final, the lads should then have had a lap of honour.

I'm not an official voice for the club as I'm not a paid official. I help out where I can and that help usually co-incides with when proper work allows!

I have never drawn a wage from the club.

Lack of information is nothing new but it must look at changing. I say this every season and I banged my head against that brick wall for 4 long years for the website, I go through a similar process everytime there is a change in the coaching role.

The programme this season has been an excellent source of information and I hope that the club make an early decision, also with someone out there with the contacts and know how of Mike Hulme, who knows what could be achieved?

Roger Halstead does a fine job now for Oldham now his reporting days are behind him.

I don't believe in grudges and I know that people will work hard behind the scenes.

My point was if it all don't pull together it fails, like a house of cards. The club has a responsibility to this, the directors do, employees do, local press do, supporters do, amateur clubs do.

There are politics, there always is but I hope things can change, it might be a little too much utopia but personally and thats me, not reporter, just supporter i'd sooner have that before Super League, then you've got an engaged community, pulling the same way.

Needless to say on my next leave from work I'll be banging the door of the office asking about news...

If you had a business and the machinery that your business needed was starting to get old and always needed repairing and the opperator of the machinery was set in their ways and didn't want to change it. What do you do. Do you keep the old opperator and keep the old machinery working, loosing out on orders to your rivals and eventually loosing business ? Or do you get new machinery and a new opperator and keep up with the times. We have got the new opperator but the old machinery is going to be still there. This machinery has not worked to its full potential for a few years now. Like I said Dave the way the club has been run (on and off the field) has probably driven away more fans than the results

Well said Dave. I know first hand how you feel. I had 30-odd years of banging my head against a brick wall. Unless it suited the club getting info from club officials (most coaches excepted) was like pulling teeth. Attitudes have to change because I fear unless they do we'll still be having these discussions in five years time!

Quote: Dick Jones "Sorry to see the reserves having to play at The Miners, they should be always the curtain raiser for the 1st team game IMHO'"

Think it would actually have a negative effect if played as a curtain raiser as people wouldn't fancy paying £3 a pint over the course of 2 matches, while I'm sure the Miners have been grateful for the income over the bar etc.

Like the idea of rotating games with East as well.

Shame the council cant let them play on the normal pitch as curtain raisers for our normal mtches, all it would mean, cost wise is a couple of stewards and staff start a couple of hours earlier, surely thats not too costly?

That would mean only opening a certain section of the ground though - what happens when that section is the West (North) section, and people who have season tickets in the North Stand or West (South) Stand want to watch the U20's?

At Saints their is normally an acadamy game on before the main match, always seems to get the fans up for the main game and creates a better atmostphere

Just open the one and then they transfer to their normal stand for the main match.

Not a chance as, like it or not, the safety team need to monitor how many people are in each stand and that wouldn't be possible with such a procedure in place.

Could you enlighten me on the type and severity of NK's illness?

This is a genuine request from someone who has a lot of time and respect for him.
