| He has lost some weight and improved his speed. In fact, when it started hail-stoning towards the end of the Moscow game his speed to get off the field and into the dugout was immense - his great big grin at being subbed just as the weather turned told the story
All good packs need an enforcer - one who stays on the field. If he can keep the aggression controlled, a quality prop and also capable of some good handling skills in the Derek Pyke or Lee Crooks mould.

[quote="Steve":1xb0p6sn] Dislike Leigh with a passion, but they are a million miles ahead of any other club in this league, a sad fact. [/quote:1xb0p6sn]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_24148.jpg |

For me C.Hill has been our standout player so far. Not taking anything away from Hobson because he has been great since fev game and hope he continues to improve but for me Hill has been our best prop. His effort is immense and he makes lots of ground and is fit enough to put in bigger spells on the pitch.

| Hobbo has been sound this season - although I don't think he did too much wrong last season, either. I said in the off season that we should retain him, and that if he had a good off-season, and dropped a bit of the excess he was carrying (which he seems to have done) and that NK can sort out his 'red mist' issues (which again, seems to be being sorted - remember, the sending off at Fev ended up as 'no case to answer' - which would not have been the case last season!) that he can be a stand-out forward in this division - and this is proving to be the case. Didn't someone point out that in the Whitehaven game (his best performance to date) that all our points were scored while he was on the field - and all 'havens were scored while he was off. Not sure if this is exactly true (maybe D.Parky can confirm this stat), but if it is then it highlights his contribution to the cause.
Keep up the good work Hobbo!!

| FWIW, I thought it was a red on the night. He had been border line all game with his tackles being up high so it was only going to be a matter of time.
That said, when he sticks to being a prop forward and not being a prat then he's very, very assured. Takes the ball up well and builds us a platform - he seems to have lost weight and got abit fitter which is helping his game as he's more effective. His experience is second to none and you can see him lead by example verbally and physically with the way he carries out his tasks (normally) on the field.
