Like Ian, I'm venting my disappointment at the situation we are in. I feel frustrated that, with better managing, (at a number of levels) we wouldn't be in this situation - again. I guess it must be an age thing, (no offence Ian!
No offence taken at all Alan, you know I speak my mind and if folk don't like it or disagree with my opinions, it's water of a Clowns back, I won't change my views.
I do agree though at OUR age 3/4 years is a long time,I've seen good and bad teams at Leigh over the years and I'm ot sure how long I have left to wait.

Should have gone to Specsavers - Bongser never misses a drop - though he sometimes has to discretely remove his dentures that his tongue might reach further down.
Since seeing your post, Col, the above-mentioned has been frantically and vainly looking for the name of a phobia that passed under his eyes about forty years ago. It was the ambiguously named "fear of glass bottoms".
This Bongser took as being the fear of seeing the bottom of a glass (the glasses from which B then drank usually bore the branding "Arcoroc"icon_wink.gif rather than Debbie Harry's fear of "Ass of Glass!" What Debbie's erstwhile costumier, Brigitte, chose to share with Bongser... (as they used to say in closing "Tales of the Riverbank"icon_wink.gif is another tale.
The point of this ramble is Col, fully agree that the glass is half full until we are told otherwise. Should it be proven empty, Bongser will replace his dental plate and order another pint. The mills may have gone. The mines may have gone. Rugby League is still in the blood of all that were born here or hereabouts.
The town and its club (in whatever form) will live on whatever happens.
Sod communication, things are delicate (some now sub judis), until there is something defo to announce, Bongser welcomes radio silence.

| Looks like you beat Bongser to the rallying cry, HRJ (the Specsavers reference was for you btw). Why not repost it in thee weeks' time on the most special of Armistice Sundays?
Hilton Park had been there for Millennia as far as a toddling Bongser was concerned. What was there before the wasteland?
Serious question for once.

I don't think that anybody would say that we would've got to SL without Derek's money, the point being raised is that for all the investment made, should have a hell of a lot more to show for it than one season in SL and an apparent implosion of the club.

Harold, I've said before I've watched Leigh since 1961 and this is the worst situation we have been in,even worse than when the Blackpool Mafia tried it on,to say you can name at least 20 worse episodes, you should be on Tenable with Warwick Davis.
At the moment we have a handful or no players, our Coach is linked to Widnes and in today's RL paper we are being taken to an Employment Tribunal by a player who has not been paid in full since September. How are we going to atract future signings with this happening?
As for myself being in the trenches you obviously don't me, I never know when to give in, but I won't flog a dead horse either. The Forums 2 resident Spin Doctors will never influence my opinions,I make my own mind up, always will do.
I think the break from RL will do me good , I may feel different in the New Year.Take care . .

The history of the club, on the excellent Leigh Life website, says that the group of enthusiasts who built the stadium, 'cleared some fields, on the edge of the town.' The 1905 map, on the same website, shows church fields and other fields, on the site.
I've got my shovel ready, just in case!

Oddly enough, in looking back at the history of our club, trying to find an answer to B&B's question about what HP was built on, I stumbled across instances of running out of money, running out of players, having no kit, having no ground to play on, etc. etc. It DOES sound familiar, eh? Of course, all this was between the two World Wars, and was, obviously, before my time!
