PA system was quality, gud effort with it

We were sat in the back corner of the West stand- south side.....directly in line with the try line. Around us were quite a few kids with those fekkin' horns blaring (I hope that doesn't catch on!!)
Even with all that noise, and from that distance, I clearly heard the flute song (which made me cringe), the Nanyn song (which made me laugh out loud!!), Stand up if you hate Wigan (which raised a wry smile as I knew they'd all be moaning about it on "Cherry&$hyte"....and they didn't let me down!!), and the 'pasty' chant....which "Cherry&$hyte" have immediately jumped on as racist chanting......I hope to God they were singing "Pasty"!!

On a different note - why the hell did they bother with a trophy for that game?? Pointless, and slightly embarassing to have that kind of razzamatazz style presentation to a ground that was near empty by the time they got round to it!!!

What has that got to do with Leighs 'bid', there fans from many many clubs at the international. The game was staged by the LSV not by Leigh Centurions RLFC

From what I am hearing the numbers of fans there from Leigh would actually go in our favour. Don't think there is a box to be ticked either for quality or otherwise of the singing

It was a lot better than previous and not crackling, but for me it still could do with being turned up a little more.

i cant believe the pies have moaned! a few of their fans were next to us and found the songs funny! least some wiganers have a sense of humour, we were accused of racism , if singing id rather have a pasty than a pie is racist then i will be the next prime minister

Was it the RFL's own sound system? I noticed the sound was coming from speakers behind the perimeter advertising boards and not from the usual white boxes on the roof of the stand.

I was in the East Stand (wearing my Warrington shirt) and the atmosphere where we were sat was good, we got chating to supporters from all clubs and there was no hostility.

Heard a few songs from The North Stand but not the flute song. I laughed (as did other Wire fans nearby) when people were singing w@nky warrington so the pies need to wind their necks back in.

To suggest this will affect Leigh's Super League application is just stupid. I will continue this rant at a later date as revision is calling...

What is wrong with singing anti Wigoon songs ?

As a proud Leyther it's my divine right to detest Wigoon and anything that is associated with it , and if they don't like it they can sod off back to bed with their sisters

Was told by friends in East stand that when Tompkins scored a woman stood up gave everyone the finger and said "now thats a great player " or words to that efect,cant disagree on the great player bit.

Are you sure it was a woman ? I find it's the pie eating women who have shorter beards and the odd one shaves under its arms
