Should be a great opening game event. Well done DB and team for being innovative and making games events to draw in more supporters.

Possible, but it would probably require Salford to sell out the South Stand, which seems unlikely.

I'd be hoping we get close to filling the rest of the ground and with a decent turn-out from Salford we might be looking at 10k-ish.

Of course, if they're willing to mix the fans in the South Stand - or there's enough demand that neutrals buy tickets for the Salford end - then it's possible it could be a sell-out.

If we get around 8k i for one would be happy with that. The recent United v Liverpool game had 7,650 on and the stadium looked good on TV. Impressions are everything and with this being the Sky Friday night game what we don’t want to see is rafts of empty seats, fingers crossed the good people of Leigh and Salford come out in good numbers

Yeah, the promotion has been brilliant and still weeks to go. Hopefully a good night on sky, a win and the attendances can stay high.

The aim should be a sell out for wigans visit despite it being a Thursday.

I don’t really many if any being in the stand opposite the tunnel in 2017 but could be wrong.

East Stand Tickets now on sale which is always a good sign , albeit Blocks A-D not being available due to the entertainment being housed in Block C

Maybe we (and Bongser includes himself) should knock the negativity on the head. Mr Beaumont has again sploshed the dosh in an effort to attract new fans/packed house and (for all of our sakes) it is to be hoped that he makes his money back and more!

Retracting his previous statement, Bongser will turn up betimes to make sure that he is numbered amongst the gate.

COYL!

Well said Bongser. I’d give my left nard to be there at all but couldn’t make it happen no matter how hard I tried.
Take the ball and run with it Leythers. This could be the start of an historic season when we look back in a few years time.

Check your email, Vanners, and as your last trip to LSV saw York ship a ton, it is hoped that your next attendance of a Leigh match will be a similarly joyous occasion for Leythers. icon_thumb.gif

But now back on topic: "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" - Bongser's younger daughter (la plus jeunesse Mademoiselle de Bongseur (that's her name, don't wear it out)) WhatsApp-ed her old Pa from Germany (her latest gallivant) to ask; "Padre,"(for some reason she generally calls Bongser that, though for the last few days she has experimented with Vater - probably more apposite, phonetically at least!)

"Padre," she thumbed, "Are you going to Leigh Leopards on the 17th of Feb?"

Bongser has added capitalisation ( icon_rolleyes.gif ) and presumes that she is touting for Scouting for Girls. A good few moons ago (post divorce) Les Bongsettes were at The Towers. Leigh were playing away and their genitor (and janitor!) was listening to the match on t'interweb. Plus jeunesse got excited when the commentary mentioned Fui Fui Moimoi as she had met him when he'd visited her school. She still declined the offer of being taken to the next game!

The point of this ramble is that maybe THIS marketing has some legs to it. If Bongser is to stump up for her ticket though, she will be required to stay on for the main event.

Over & Out.

Same here VL, I would love to be there but after almost 60 years attending games home and away, the last 30 or more years consisting of 9 hours round trip journeys on buses, trains and the occasional taxi, I have no chance of getting to Friday night games so my times watching live games has come to a premature end. Bit of a sickener when you have been wishing for a decent SL team who can win big games only to have your dreams dashed by a bl**dy change in gamedays. Never mind I will buy NOW TV day pass and watch a Leigh game and an NRL game. Anyway, my best wishes to the 70spornstars in leopard leotards and hope you get your full house v the Red Devils

Plenty of entertainment for everyone. Just need some lions and gladiators now. You can see what DB's viewing is can't you. Britain's Got Talent, The Masked Singer and Judge Judy. Bet he watches Strictly as well icon_smile.gif
