| Let's be honest who knows who our main rival could be Rowley did a cracking job with Salford to get them on that run of wins , hkr had a real go and Wakefield did a mini surge to get of trouble even Toulouse had a spell then fell away ,there could be a couple of teams down there that will surprise us ( better not mention Warrington surely they can't be that bad again can they ...

| To finish 11th Leigh will need to win 6 or 7 games, depending on how far adrift the bottom team is. 10 wins will leave us mid-table. At the moment I am unsure where those wins are coming from. 3 wins against Wakefield would probably be a good start.
Skybet have gone for Wakey bottom, with Leigh and Hull KR as fellow strugglers. Not sure I believe the prediction for Leeds and Warrington who could well have a torrid season. Warrington have a manager who is under intense pressure to start well, and Leeds have scoured the lower Leagues for bargains.
Wigan and St Helens to occupy the top 2 slots and the rest is up for grabs.

| That's the spirit ! I don't believe we will go down either and to be fair I haven't heard any of our fans yet saying we,ll go down I just can't see anything other than a 3 or 4 team scrap with possibly 1of them falling away mid season but you are right a very good home campaign, bordering on dominant it will need to be .

You'd have to say that though, hope it's HKR that goes down instead of you but it will be close between the two of you.

Wakefield have a new inexperienced manager, and have lost a large number of your best players. I am interested to know how/why Wakefield are going to dominate the Super League this season? Will the new 90 metre stand be the 14th man?

I'm more interested to know how you have decided that I think we are going to dominate super league or super dooper league as you used to call it when you couldn't compete in it, all I have merely said is it will be HKR or yourselves that will finish bottom.
With regards to the recruitment it's doing fine thanks for asking, and from the desperation signings you have made I'd be a little concerned about your own new signings, hopefully the new fixtures and fittings to the ground will give us all a lift we'll have to wait and see, maybe degsy can get together with Lenehan and buy your council owned ground and have a share in it, it could also be your 14th man, after all you'll need plenty of something to go for you this season.

| I think this post has gone a bit scew whiff , don't think chissett mentioned about dominating superleague, he was replying to a post I put about us (Leigh)needing to have a very good home campaign to the point of being dominant at the LSV .ANY team wishing to do well at any level have to win more games at home than they lose otherwise it will be tough getting points on their travels.cheers chissett for not having us down for bottom spot , good luck to you guys

| A Happy New Year to all. However, if Leigh's pack is consistently bullied (as looks more than likely looking round) this coming one may prove a long, long season resulting in another relegation. Big Ben will have to do much longer shirts as things stand but hopefully a full pre-season will facilitate that.

| Hi all and Happy New Year.
Interesting thread this one and here's my twopenneth for what its worth. Last year, much of our success was built on superior ruck speed rather than ultimate size. We had two middles in Amone and Asiata who whilst not massive were plenty big enough and who destroyed teams most weeks with pace and power. They were ably assisted by O'Donnell and Sidlow. Sidlow will be a miss but with the exception of the odd impressive handling stint he didn't really pull up any trees in the Championship. These players were the platform on which our season was built. Asiata, Amone and O'Donnell are still here. We have supplemented with a like styled player in Mulhern who was outstanding at the back end for Warrington and fits the style we play. Important to note that Mulhern is like for like with Sidlow in size and weight but for my money is faster, runs harder and with more intensity. Whilst it will be more difficult in Super League, my recollection of SL last year is that there is only really Saints, Wigan, Huddersfield and maybe Hull whose middles can live with the speed and intensity of Amone and Asiata.
Our starting halves, particularly Lam Jnr are excellent.
Ipape has the quality to make a difference but i would like to see a similar set up to last year with Smith playing from the start and Ipape coming on when there are tired legs to get the most from him.
We have a back line as good as most teams and whilst Ferguson will be a big miss we have enough there to win plenty of games if we win the grind in the middle and that is more about ruck speed and intensity than size. I can see us finishing top 6 with a fair wind. All the talk is about Ipape and i love him as much as the next Leyther, but it is Amone and Asiata who will set the tone and win us games.
C'mon the Leythers.
