It was a really good game. After 20 minutes Rochdales 'quick play the balls/slick handling' thought we were gonna get stuffed. Their forwards looked a lot bigger as well, obviously Craig Briscoe isn't small & Brad Ashurst is a big lad.
But we dug in, and after 60 minutes looked like we would get a win.
Bullock, Bate and our stand off (no. 18 an Australian) stood out for me....and it was nice to see young Elliot Liku playing for us, only played about 20 minutes, but considering how small he is (but wide) he took some stopping.
I said to one of the Rochdale players after the game that "you were lucky tonight" before he punched me, I said quickly "only joking", the guy then replied, "you're right, we were". Apparently they replaced just three 1st teamer's from their last game (v Keighley) with trialist's so all in all, a fantastic performance/result.

Well done to the lads. Sounds like they played very well.
Looking forward to seeing this one on LCTV.

Did charlie dengate play tonight and if so Which one was he. I thought the lads put I a fantastic performance but I thought it was gonna be a cricket score after about 15-20 minutes. Really brought it to them for the rest of the game though. A lot of young talent there

Dengate was the stand-off (#1icon_cool.gif thought he did OK. Not a bad result at all and quite a few positives all round really - think I'll have to try and get to a few more of their games this year.

Good result for our lads Rochdale will have to improve but I thought we gave them a good tester as even with the squad players it was a very young team who will only get better as the season progresses, I will try and get the game up on LC TV after I get back from the photoshoot in the morning.

I thought we were going to get tatered but the boys dug in and did the shirt proud. The decision to send two players off with minute to go - in a not so niggly - game ws daft. I hope that isn't a sign for the season. I was stood with Rochdales Vice Chairman ( nice fella ) and his group on one side and on the other the biggest bunch of fools I have had the displeasure to be near. Right from the start they were shouting "smack him", " get him battered" and when it started getting tastey were complaining that "there are no freindlies when you come to Leigh". Contantly moaning.
Anyway as I said there were lods of positives from last night. Well done lads. Can't wait for Sunday now.

Yes that was them. They shut up goading there lads into smacking Anthony when I told them he would probably wipe the floor with most of their lads. Don't know if he could but at least they shut up for a bit. The one with the specs and the flat cap was a first class idiot.

if that was rochdale's best team that they sent last night then i think they are in for a very hard and long season....
