Does Taylor qualify for playing as I thought he'd only played for us twice all season ?

Also wasn't DR being 'sold' as only being used when we have injuries or a player shortage, are we now not more or less back to full strength so I'd expect Rowley would use the players who have played quite a few games (Spencer etc) or ones that have at least got a affiliation to Leigh.

I have no idea what the team is, the day the suits select the team means chaos at that club but I will be scurrying around Tenerife trying to find a bar to shout the lads home from - enjoy the day I am genuinely jealous

Well a good point however this is obviously going to be reviewed at the end of the season.

For this season however I think we should be trying to win the prize money on offer as this will obviously put our club on a better financial footing.

One other thing we are in this partnership for this season because of an injury crisis earlier in the season.

We would not be in this partnership at all if lapsed fans stopped sulking and turned up to support Leigh RLFC.

Taylor DOES qualify as he played in the victory over Featherstone Rovers.

Aspinwall is injured so the criteria is being adhered to - thats IF he is selected and released for the game by his parent club.

If it was Spencer then I'd say fair enough (he's been here since day 1) but Taylor probably hasn't played 80 minutes for Leigh Centurions first team so we shouldn't be considering removing anyone from a cup final squad to accommodate him (or any other player from Wigan or anywhere else) unless we are short of players , have injuries or have suffered a huge drop in form in my opinion.

I'd say we have our full squad to choose from , have few injuries and are very much on form.
Hopefully its just a rumour as it would certainly take the 'shine' off any feel good factor that's been building if it turned out to be true.

C'mon run up to a final, lets focus on that, let Paul pick the team from what's available and enjoy the occasion, finals don't come along very often, plus anyone who witnessed the impact and effort at featherstone wouldn't question if he does play

I'd pick him if he was available. As much as Duffy has been improving, Taylor would make a big difference to our side. Have to pick the best 17 for a cup final.

For me there is no room for sentiment , its about winning the Cup , and that means playing the BEST available 17 players possible , Paul R is an extremely professional Coach , I trust his judgement to be in the best interests of Leigh Centurions ,and win lose or draw , Charlie will be at Hunslet the week after cheering the Boys on .

How could it take the shine off it if we win with Taylor playing, the guy played out of his skin away at featherstone and had he not played it is quite possible we would not have gone through.

All that matters Saturday is a Leigh win, whoever pulls on the shirt I will be cheering on. A Leigh win will go along way for us and will hopefully have all the fans buzzing , Even we may get a smile out of Joanne callotte, and the prize money will help out too.

But I say all them who would rather us not pick the team with the best chance of winning, should go to the club and say they are not happy and will cover what the club losses in prize money because it will take the shine off there day winning with a Wigan lad in the team, even though he has played his heart out.

I know what I want Saturday, the team with the best chance of winning on Saturday turning up and feel we have a lot better of a chance with Scott Taylor playing. But if he plays or not I will be there cheering on till the end no matter.

I can't wait for a great final and trust PR will pick the best team he can to win

The thing is Duffy will also probably be is at Hunslet the week after whilst Taylor is back at Wigan.........

Lets be honest, Taylor isn't in the same kind of DR as Spencer as he has hardly touched a ball in a Leigh shirt , now I can understand Rowley manipulating the weak RFL rules on this (just as Hunslet and Swinton have done) and picking him as he is in a results business but come on this isn't a player getting in because he's been playing well for Leigh and thus we're picking our strongest squad - this is a Wigan player coming in as he's a England International and we are desperate for a result.

Like I said I hope it doesn't happen as for me I'd rather us win or lose using our own players (or those that have been around the first team for more than a hour).

Jenky , I agree with you about Scott Taylor ,IF Scott plays as you so rightly say its about results and hopefully we can get the right one on Saturday evening , young Duffy is one for the Future , but the NRC Final is NOW ,I hope we see Scott in a Leigh jersey a few times before the season ends , but who knows .

As for Scott himself I know how much he enjoys playing for Leigh , and the look on his his face at Fev when we knocked them out of the NRC said it all , he WILL give 100% if selected on Saturday .

If Aspinwall was fit we wouldn't be using Taylor simple as that IMO. Duffy is a good player but lacks fitness & this game will be running at a fast intense speed which won't suite Duffy at all where as Taylor's FT fitness will be invaluable.

2 preferences for me would be either Taylor or Higson on the bench
