I would put him in as centre to Pownall.

| The pack were out muscled, the backs were out paced and the halfback were out thought (as well as out paced)
We didn't just lose, we were completely outclassed and thrashed. I certainly didn't expect that score line. There is a lot of work to do.
I hope the players are not thinking about the play off's right now as some fans appear to be.

I agree if someone breaks out wide he's got a good chance of catching them with his pace

| Jeez, we got stuffed in our 1st game. We will be in this league for donkey's years, calm down !!!
Every game is a 'glorified friendly' anyway....but it would have been nice to win today.
Doom, Gloom etc

With a top 8 set-up you could put a run together in August and still make the play-offs!!
We were out muscled and out enthused today by Fev on their own middin....but I won't be writing this season's obituary just yet!! Lets see where we are up to after the return fixture at our place, before we start the "Rowley Out - Sack The Board" campaign, eh??

| I've forgotten where I'm at with my hate/love Rowley, I'll get back to you all on that one....
But one game doesn't make a season, even if i do remember similar comments early doors last year. Or year before. Or both...

| I'm certainly not calling for the coaches head, advocating doom and gloom or any of the other negativities, just trying to ask how many times must we get beaten in the exact same manner off a well drilled enthusiastic side? They aren't saints of the late 90's, they don't score remarkable, "wide to west" style tries, they have one nippy half back, and one brainy halfback who can throw the ball a good 30 metres to his right (never seen finn chuck one of those balls the other way?) The tactics we've employed against fev the last 5 or 6 times we've played them are totally reliant on them having a bad day (bit like Stoke haha) rather than throwing it around, taking every drive in off the second man etc. When you play fev, on attack the ball should hardly ever be in the middle of the pitch, yesterday i got bored of seeing the runner go straight back at the markers, and the world famous beswick drop off. Even when the wingers and centres came to help out, they went back at the markers! I can tolerate a poor day at the office, just not losing to them in the exact same manner, conceding the exact same tries 5 times on the bounce. They could pick any of the last 5 game videos vs fev to watch tonight at training to pinpoint their errors, because they're all the same, lessons must be learned!

| 1st game of the season and you are all moaning. Fev went to Spain for a few days training, it obviously paid off.
There was a bloke behind me and he moaned from start to finish non-stop.
Give them a chance. We've had a friendly against Wigan Reserves and one in a blizzard against Swinton. It will take a few games to gel and we will finish in top 4. As Sheffield have shown, you don't have to finish top. Fev finished top and won same as us last season, nothing.
I am quite sure we will see some exciting rugby from Leigh this season. We are on a very tight budget so please get behind them instead of moaning.

| If we had seen any attacking and exciting RL yesterday I would have been happy with 38-6, Fev are the benchmark and we came up woefully short.
I would like to see again those left to rights yesterday that racked the first half points up for Fev.

| Fev were on fire yesterday. Lessons were learned from last year. Criticisms of the two finals were addressed and tho the lads was only two dropped passes from a clean sweep of trophies, it was evident where the team needed strengthening.
Andy Ellis adds some proper zip distributing the ball with Liam Finn in two passess from one side to the other.
In addition, Tommy Hodson adds some real pace we so evidently missed last year. Then Bossy moving to prop has been a revelation in what was already a very strong pack against a leigh pack missing key players.
Given the money spent on recruiting Fev I'm not surprised they are looking good.
But all of us to a man reckon Leigh will finish 2nd. I still think that. Leigh have a decent squad. You just had the misfortune to face fev on a day where we did proper click more so than at any time in the last 18 months!
You'll be there in the mix come play off time. There's a few more games to come v fev this season
