| I've not read anything else about this, but is the idea to have our own stadium for playing major games in?
If so, then the RFL should be applauded on a bit of forward thinking for once, not only do we now have a secure ground where we can play major matches which is central to the sports heartland, but they will also get financial input from the Bulls paying rent. Win/win to my mind as they are no longer held to the whims of Old Traffords staff?
If not, what the hell are they playing at?
or should I just go and read something about the subject before spouting off?

It does - a cup final replay. I was there with my dad and it took hours to get off the ground and car park (a bit like LSV really in getting away)

Would be a great idea albeit one where they would have to get the right balance....building a 60,000+ stadium sounds great in theory but I don't think it would be able to operate off the Grand Final, Challenge Cup and 13 Bradford games alone!
Doesn't look like the RFL have any plans to develop it anyroad.

| So Bradford have sold the lease. Money for the bulls. In the same report is the quote from Bradford 'Our debts are manageable'.
Well they are now!

The ground was owned by Bradford council, the Bulls presumably having sold it previously, so presumably they won't have got any cash out of this deal and not much will have changed in terms of having to pay rent etc.

The bulls have sold the long term lease to the rfl for a million pounds.
The bulls will now pay rent to the rfl.

| From the outside looking in this seems a dubious decision.
That said it may be common place in this sport these days so does anyone know how many other RL clubs have grounds owned by the Rugby Football League ?

There are a few amatuer clubs, in the pro ranks they have interests in Keighley and Rochdale, not direct ownership, but guarantors of leases, every deal is different

W71 hasn't been on for a while, is he advising them on property portfolios
On a serious note I'm not a fan of the RFL(or any sports governing body) having direct long term involvement in this way as for me it compromises them (intentionally or otherwise).
I suppose reading between the lines the alternate to not stepping in was a high profile RL club being in the press for all the wrong reasons so its damage limitation for the right reasons.

| If i was a fan of a sl club i'd be a tad dissapointed if next season the Bradford squad looked quite a lot better than it has done for the last few seasons
