Aside from any tiredness issues on our part, I thought Fev were very good. Their defence was outstanding in the first half, we were camped in their 20 for considerable periods and only came up with one try. Had they had as much ball and territory as us in the first half then the game would have been all over. We couldnt bully them up front, their number 6 was excellent and they were quicker out wide, offloaded well and supported well.

Our tiredness must have come into it as I would have expected them to win by far more than 1 point at Widnes based on last night's performance.

The good thing is that this reality check gives Basil the opportunity to take us even further icon_biggrin.gif

Playing Fev, 5 days after beating Widnes, for the top spot in the division, defending our unbeaten record...and coming away with a bonus point....upto to a few weeks ago, I would have snatched your hand off for that.

We are making great progress, but we haven't won anything yet, and other teams are going to have their day also.

10 games in and we've dropped 3 points. We'll definately be in the mix at the end of the season and that's all you can hope for.

2015 - major missed opportunity, 2016 - stronger teams = harder task (no problem there then), 2017 - OMG What now!!!:953.jpg

Back to winning ways hopefully on Sunday, better had do anyway if I'm doing that trek again. Looking forward to it having missed the last two games due to work.

Don't suppose anyone has a couple of spare car flags they no longer have use for.

Leigh looked very jaded, last night,it was if Fev were saying cmon, show us what you have ,we will tackle you ALL NIGHT, we looked very tired.

To me Dave Alstead, looks as if something is bothering him, could be wrong, but imnot happy with Stanton on the wing, the lad tries no doubt ,but willnever break the line, with his style, and Robbie didnt look fit, just put it down to a bad night, roll on the Marras and Austin Powers.

both true in my opinion but i was very impressed with fev and they are well coached.
their defence dealt with our slide attack very well, bit disappointed that we did not seem to have a plan b. in my humble opinion it was crying out for grubber kicks early in the tackle count because their defence rushed up very quickly

Are you Stevo???
I think when you are struggling for energy, the last thing you want to do is give the ball away.

Rugby League is folklore. What captures our imagination is not simply the winning or the losing, it's the stories. The stories of perseverance, of sheer will, of hard work, of heartbreak, of miracles, and of triumph and tragedy.:43504.jpg

I was impressed with Fevs defence, that won them the game, I thought. We looked very tired, both in attack and defence. Ive no complaints, the best side won on the night. I was bemused by some of the refereeing decisions though. icon_confused.gif What was all that about, near the end of the game, when the Fev sub was shown a yellow card? Seems like Hicks makes his own rules up as he goes along!

at the end of the day we did not score enough points to win, we looked one dimensional.
if we did give possesion away it would be deep in their territory and then you have to back our defence. on the up-side it could have gained us 2 trys and possibly changed the match.

we should not die wondering...what would you suggest wayne bennett

We were tired and they were not tired hence they won we did'nt and i'm sure under different circumstances the outcome would have told another story.

She carries on through it all...... She's a Waterfall:

Quote: leyther_geezer "Both really Fev we're the better team yesterday[size BUT [/size I still believe we are the better side. Our hard & busy work schedule we've recently had showed as we lacked the energy levels understandardly Fev we're alot sharper because they had a few week off from their last game. Stick a couple of DC players on when we play them away & we'll smash 'em yeh - I remember the "smash em all over the park" comment last week!! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif
You may well beat us at our gaffe. In recent years you've done well against us. But like I said at the weekend, all the Tubthumping has a habit of making you look daft!!!!
I'll reserve my comments til after the event!!! k020.gif k020.gif

Keep smiling owd cock!

theres the rub!!

our dual reg lads are head and shoulders better than all other clubs, so it makes a big difference when they're not out on the paddock.

I'm sure your defeat to us last night was just a blip, i've seen you 3 times this season and been very impressed, granted you have some more DR players but your own players aren't too shabby either.
We had the same scenario last time out against toulouse, we were sluggish and let them get under our skins, we weren't tired though we were poor. I don't buy the too tired thing though, they are all fit sportsmen and you had more time off since your last match than you'd have between a sunday game followed by a sky match.
That said i'm quite certain that both clubs are suprising all the rest with our starts and I for one can see it being us two at the end of the season bunfight.
Good luck Sunday though you won't need it, haven can't tackle full stop and after a couple of quick tries their heads go down, you'll hammer them.
all the best
