| As I see it we may not necessarily see the benefit of him actually on the pitch. May well end up just being a squad player but his experience at the higher level will be invaluable for the half backs (including any up and coming youngsters).
Doesn't sound like we were the only team after him, so he must still have something to offer.
All about opinions this forum, why people keep falling out with each other on here is beyond me, and one of the reasons why I rarely comment on here any more.

| May follow your example Col. I think you are saying what I was trying to say earlier although you have probably put it across better.

| I object to being classed as a moaner just because I 'questioned' the signing of a player who is at the latter end of his career.
I think the board are fantastic, the coach is brilliant and this team will go down in our history as one of the best we've ever had - and I think most people think the same.
I haven't heard one person on here slag off any of the above and if we're to be classed as moaners, then you lot complaining about it should be classed as sh 1 t stirrers for trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.
The fact is, none of know how good/bad he is because he doesn't seem to have played much lately but Paul and Derek obviously know something we don't and believe he can do a job for us or they wouldn't have signed him.
This is one of the best, most exciting times in recent memory to be a Leigh fan, we all get it and we're all going along for the ride so please don't try to make out that we don't appreciate it or have forgotten the bad times because WE WILL NEVER FORGET those dark days.
Rant over.

| In terms of developing a professionally run business this is probably the most exciting time in the Club's entire history. Yet the signing of one player seems to have polarised opinion more than anything else - amazing!
Things are perhaps going so well it is time to hit the self destruct button.
Just imagine the "noise level" as and when we hit a really challenging period for the club - for example, a poor run of results on the field.
With great respect, my personal recommendation to Andy would be to stop posting (no matter how frustrated he may feel). In my humble opinion he should reinstate his previous decision not to post. It has been demonstrated on several occasions that posting a personal view as a member of the BOM appears to inflame rather than help. I also believe this thread is a clear demonstration as to why it is so important to maintain anonymity when posting.
It has also demonstrated how easy things can escalate to a point that is potentially damaging for the club. I suggest every one of us carries a responsibility here.

Debate is healthy but it would seem some would have it done away with, didn't that happen in 1930's Germany and we all know what that caused.

| Quote: Budgiezilla "Some of these Leigh experts need to join the board/coaching staff.
We have 'won the league' barring a miracle, nearly won at Leeds Rhinos, whilst probably also on our way to winning 500K prize money. Yet still folk find things to MOAN about...weird.
WHAT AN AMAZING SEASON.....thank you The Players, Coaching Staff, and Board Of Directors. Never imagined it would have been as good as this.
Why, I do not have the money nor time to join the board or the skills/qualifications to join the coaching team however that does not mean I cannot express an OPINION on a signing, I have not and will not slag off Ben unless he turns out to be awful in a Leigh shirt which, I hope is not the case.
This is Season has been unbelievable but just because a few people are surprised or do not think this signing is a good idea does not make them any less of a fan than you or mean they are not enjoying the season as much.

| Phil Kinsella (Radio Manchester) has tweeted that he has spoken to Jeffries recently about his move to Leigh, and he is now moving out of the Newcastle League to play for Jason Demetrious's Northern Pride in the Queensland Cup comp for the rest of the season.

| Will be a good signing. We could do with a bit of age in the halves, riddy is experienced, as well as being the best 6 in the league. But did anybody see what we looked like without him that second half on sunday? Rudderless! Average age of the squad is about 26, Jeffries addition won't even budge that average. I reckon Jefferies will add a different dimension to the halfback pairing when needed, and will be a good game manager. (something we've lacked previous weeks, and seems something we're short of if anything). Jules O'neill? Fair enough he went off the rails, as he did at most of his clubs, but how old was he when he signed? Providing Jeffries drinks less bundaberg than him, he should be a player in the same sort of mould, and hopefully take the panic out of situations at times. This is a good young team, all gaining experience together, introducing players of Jeffries class whether he plays much or not is a key part of their development. Halves like him don't need to be able to go through the gaps themselves, chances are he'll have three runners lined up in single file in order of ascending height to go through it for him! This game isn't all physical you know.

Just out of interest, what level of rugby in England does this equate to?
