| Quote: Cokey "It seems once again, a caution for tripping seems to be the norm
nowadays.............unless you play for Leigh of course.
However, all these cautions must have had an effect on Richie Myler. He WASN'T cited for tripping, this week!

| Quote: LeythIg " His knock on with 90 seconds to go at Catalans ultimately cost us 10th place and an extra home game.'"
Quote: LeythIg " Another example of him just not doing playing particularly smart. Like against Wigan, he could've just held the player back rather than tripping him. Wouldn't have been banned for that '"
Quote: LeythIg " As for Bird, may as well have waited for him to get up, then chinned him.'"
100% Agree. It is similar to him in the 8's last season deliberately and needlessly flattening Flannagan from behind in the opening quarter of game 2 Vs Salford. I wonder where we would have ended up in that game and as a club now if the officials had seen that and sent him off there and then !
Quote: LeythIg " He's still got plenty to learn, but I don't think its a coincidence that we looked more composed, less erratic without him or Higson in the side. Albeit in a game with less intensity about it than what I would expect is coming'"
I questioned him last year if he would be able to cope with the pressures and extra microscopic scrutiny that SL ensures all players need to play under. I am still wondering if this boy Acton will ever learn. He is 26 next birthday and we are still not seeing any signs of any leveling of maturity with him.
Quote: LeythIg "
To be honest, Its probably a good thing he isnt playing again this season. We cannot afford to lose players in vital games because all seven matches can be definitely won and lost !!'"
Absolutely. The Qualifiers are 7 high stake games, played in a pressure cooker environment. It requires players who are totally disciplined with the mind set and ability to get the job done, remaining 100% focused no matter how intense the pressure or provocation.
IMO and all things considered, Acton probably serves us best sat in the stands during this competition. To much is at stake for his silly shenanigans now.

| According to the owner, he has stopped punching and retaliating - in other words, he has improved some of his discipline. Not sure how you work towards cutting out some of the 'indisciplines' that have landed him in trouble this year?

He must be running out of ' daft ' things to do Alan , let's hope he doesn't fit a ' Larroyer ' in before he's finished ?
Come on Jamie

I'm frustrated (and thankful) that his 'indisciplines' haven't actually lead to opposing players being injured, whereas others get injured by reckless tackles and there is no punishment whatsoever meted out!
I still believe he is an international in the making, and dread him going to another SL team, and that belief becoming reality. I truly hope and wish that Jamie, along with the coaching team, can sort things out.

Alan, That's a good description of the situation regarding Jamie.

40700_1363351224.gif from Whitehaven to Elland Rd could only be Leigh RLFC:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_40700.gif |

On the subject of the Review Panel citing incidents in SL games (which is where Jamie is usually spotted!) I stumbled across this clip, in Sky's '5 Biggest Hits of the week'. One of the hits was a tackle by Eloi Pelissier and Atelea Vea, on Salford's Junior Sa'u.
Granted, my eyesight may be ailing, especially when watching through cherry & white tinted spectacles, but can anyone explain to me what Sa'u appears to do to Vea, in this tackle? (watch Sa'u's head movement) If Sa'u does what I believe he does, why wasn't he cited?

| He wasn't cited,as the review panel were not looking for incidents involving Salford. Ben Murdoch-Masila was the prime example.Just a word from the ref after a double bubble and the review panel must see that and also believe it not worthy of a charge.

| If I didn't already know how disciplined all the other SL teams are, I may have mistaken Sau's action as a deliberate head butt!
