I agree all money will be put in as soon as Toronto go up strengthen the squad now and then we won’t need the superstars that got us relegated from super league

Monty it’s been said before about Toronto and promotion to SL for them,and no point trying to compete, I understand this, but my question is,whoever gets relagated from SL , say HKR,won’t they have the advantage of a parachute payment ?And therefore be the threat Toronto are to us .?

I agree with you re the same kind of threat but we will have a full season and off season of rebuild under our belts. After all the turmoil of the off season just gone I don't think another complete rebuild and push for promotion this season would have been successful.
I do wonder weather next season will see a hybrid team of fulltime pros and partime quality (which we already have). We have benefitted from regaining our team soul under the guidance of JD, and i would hate to see us lose that again.

Just look at history Charlie (3 years)

HKR - came down, then went straight back up (too strong for the championship)
Us - came down, then couldn't make the top 4 - remember - last year we didn't even have a team
Widnes - came down and look what happened to them

So whoever comes down could be an equal threat as Toronto are now, but the odds are against them though.

It depends on what they are doing, some will be setting up their own business or learning a trade and be in a position where full time rugby is viable again next season.
