OK, fair comment, that being said I would still revert back to Leigh RLFC, the 'Centurions' moniker was most relevant in 1995 when it came into being, for the 2019 season if still maintained it could be Leigh Centurions +25, or Leigh Centurions and a quarter, I know I am being silly, but I honestly think that the name has outlived it's sell by date.

And why not, looking gift horses in the mouth springs to mind, and to coin another phrase, beggars can't be chooser's, why would any body want to reject the Koukash's, I would sooner have the good Doc with us and challenging again for the Champioship with a full time team and a healthy support, other than the very real possibillity of starting again with no team or a new one to be built, and a virtually empty stadium in Championship 1.

All RL monikers being brought in during the 'Americanisation' *if that's a word* to follow NFL, NBA & NRL style of naming sports clubs as I am sure all know, I like that Halifax & Wakefied have dropped the sub names with Wakey only retaining trinity, hasn't done either any harm !

Would be very happy to drop the Centurions name. It didn't make much sense in 1995 (should have been Leigh Centenarians if you wanted to tie into the 100 years!) and even less sense now. Leigh Phoenix would be better in the circumstances. Halifax have Fax and Featherstone have Fev, Wakefield have Trinity, so would be good to have something like that. In view of recent events, how about the Chucklebrothers?

Bottom line is NOBODY except DB knows anything , be that good or bad , so everybody speculating or worse stirring up by pretending they know things they don't , just pack it in , go to the game on Sunday , have a beer or three , enjoy the Rugby and wait

Always liked plain old Leigh RLFC if I am honest.

We could retain a 'Centurions' range of Merchandise for the kids if need be along similar lines of Leeds RLFC, The Loiners. Castleford RLFC, The Glass blowers etc.

Mind you Leigh RLFC, The Comics suddenly feels very relevant once more.

While I tend to agree , the ' monika' isn't my personal favourite it is now without doubt ingrained in the towns youth , they refer to the club as The Cenurions , to change it now would be pretty daft

Do they really ? I have never heard anyone locally refer to the Centurions, only ever Leigh. Young and Old.

Let's be honest, the club have never fully embraced it. We were one of the last clubs to adopt a moniker, and was more a knee jerk reaction to the trend of the day IMO. Now would be an ideal time for the club to reinvert itself, starting with the moniker and following with the equally awful badge.

If we are going to keep it, at least make it a must have for the kids to wear. A Centurion turning away from the club name in what appears to be a look of disgust is just a terrible terrible Ill conceived concept. It looks absolute bobbins.

I note Leeds United FC and more so Manchester City FC , have both redesigned their club badges to something more relevant to their respective Cities and its people.

It is a terrible logo! Looks like it was done on Powerpoint. The next logo will be a set of false teeth - why? Derek is going to re-sign the 1971 squad and rename the team Leigh Denturions!
