| Really sad news about Frank. Only got to know him personally about 3 years ago, He was a really knowledgeable bloke with a good sense of humour and witty with it. There will be more than a somber atmosphere in the George today. RIP Frank.

| This is terribly sad news. I heard he had only recently moved back to Leigh as well.
I saw him at the majority of Leigh games home and away, but I chatted to him most in the George whilst he enjoyed a glass of Red. Frank had the ability to brighten up your mood, just by being in his presence. He had a truly great sense of humour. We would talk passionately about our great Leigh RL club until Frank would say he was bored now and rush for his bus back to the 'posh part of Salford' , promising me a bitter on his next visit. Only a Gil mind as he was on a fixed income you know.
I did once , many a year ago find myself on a quite extraordinary flight home from France with Frank after a Leigh match, that will live long in the memory, it really will.
A true charachter and as passionate a Leigh RL fan you could ever meet. RIP Frank. You will be sadly missed by many.
Thoughts are with all Franks family and friends.

| Another great character gone. I've known Frank for a fair few years now and his dry humour always gave me and Diane a good laugh. We'll raise a glass to him before today's game in't Victorian.

| Quote Leyther_Matt="Leyther_Matt"Such sad news. Spent many an hour with Frank over the years, chatting at home games, reserve games, travelling to away games together and often watching neutral games together, be they at Swinton, Salford, Halifax or wherever.
Frank has been in ill health for some time but was still managing to get to home games earlier in the season if not necessarily every game home and away as had always been the case in the past.
A real pleasure to have called him a friend and I’m sure hundreds will feel likewise. He will be sadly missed.'"
Well said Matt, Frank was such a lovely man

| To the best of my knowledge I’ve never met Frank but if he ever stood behind the sticks at Hilton Park maybe I did. Either way after years of reading his posts on here I feel like I knew him.
My thoughts are with his family and friends.
Rest In Peace Frank

| I have probably met & spoke with Frank a dozen times & he was a real friendly fella with a great dry sense of humour.
I will never forget his favourite line "fixed income" or his love of a glass of red & his love for Leigh Centurions.

| RIP Frank. He could certainly talk rugby and his limited income occasionally stretched to a couple of reds.Had many a natter in the 3 pigeons and the wren and he would always go out of his way to find my partner and I in the shay or Leight stadium if not in the pub.A true gentleman and a rugby stalwart who will be missed by many in the wider rugby league family. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this time.

| Saddened on reading this thread on the way into work this morning. Only knew Frank for about 18 months but after our meeting shared many a pint with him and his mate, Peter, down at the Egerton in Salford. Despite the territory, he was always ‘distinguised’ by his very much lived in Centurions cap and was ever an affable quaffer. He’d been frail of late but I didn’t see this coming. I’m usually a Wobbly Bob man but will raise a pint of Holts’ Best both for him and to him this evening. Condolences to family and friends. RIP Frank.
