Marshall coached a part-time team (not even spending to their salary cap) to beat every team in the league at least once... including three full time teams....in his first year in charge. How long and with how much money did it take Rowley to get to where you are now?

Rowley is a good coach making full use of his vast playing resources, but put him in charge of another squad and it would be a different matter.

Slightly OT but on the subject of awards, did you guys get anything for finishing top? Was there any kind of league leaders shield etc?

Not really. When he first started he had no staff, the club had no money and didn't have enough players to make a team. Rowley has shown he can coach any team he has to over achieve.

Yep got the Championship League Leader's Shield. Don't know if there was any prize money for it.

I wouldn't grumble at many of the decisions and awards. I would question Player of the Season though. Not because Gaskell ain't a good maybe even very good player, but has he played enough to warrant It? I guess those voting must have remembered how he had destroyed them in a particular game this season and his was how they voted.

The awards results did not surprise me.

We all know Lancashire fans players and clubs would vote for the best player 'best club and best coach in the league whereas Yorkies only vote for their own.

And we get to keep it on the team bus for a whole season, well until we have to play Featherstone away & the bus ends up on bricks.
