On the other hand, I do welcome the original post because I did not sense a really negative tone about it - of course there were the reasons why he does not come, and to be honest, they are all valid concerns. It is important that people get things off their chests. It may be that some factors CAN be changed because of this type of feedback.

Having said that, I think all those lapsed fans need to look deep, deep into their soul and see if they can still find a love for Leigh down their somewhere. I bet 99% of them will not go and support another RL team - why? Simple, because Leigh, not just rugby league, is in their blood. Fans of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years standing must realise this about themselves and not throw in the towel at this stage - get back on the terraces and support your club. Forget, for now, what time of day it is or who is putting on the Leigh shirt - those things can be addressed - IF we get enough people through the turnstiles and allow us to make our own destiny.

The fewer fans that turn up, the more we will have to rely on imports - it is not rocket science, is it?

The fact that others like myself still post on here , or just read the forum suggests that they aren't completely lost , just perhaps a little tired,bored,dissolutioned,skint or maybe just all ' rugbied ' out

But that interest is still there [ even with WYSIWYG so I'd suggest listen to them , by all means disagree with them , but dont attempt to force them away completely , time travels quickly and peoples feelings towards things changes just as quickly

It isn't and has never been a " You get down and watch or else bugger orf " situation , the club belongs to the whole town , yes perhaps more so to those that loyaly follow through thick and thin in both the clubs fortunes and their own , but every day is a new dawn , and every day gives a new opportunity for the club to attract new or old fans to enjoy watching and being involved in what is essentially ' LEIGH '

The disgruntled need a soapbox and this forum is ideal for them but the minority that state their cases on here are willing to debate. The bigger problem is the majority of the disgruntled who spout their bile at every opportunity in various establishments, they don't debate but trot out their well used phrases in an attempt to discredit the club and the fans that still attend.

My original post was not meant to be negative or positive. It was meant to be honest. I tried to spell out the reasons I no longer watch Leigh and I know a lot of others feel the same way.
To those who say I am making excuses, I don't understand what you mean. Making excuses for what? I admit I don't watch Leigh any more and I gave my reasons. What can that possibly be an excuse for?
Anyone who knows me, knows how passionate I am about rugby (both codes as it happens) and Leigh. I am Leigh through and through and could never watch anyone else (except Leigh East of course, my son played for them from being 7 up to open age).
Can I be tempted back? Yes, of course. But things need to change first. Hopefully the new management team will effect these changes. I am merely showing them some of the challenge they have.

Then they are lost , especially the ones who think Mick Higgins and other ' predessers ' are still taking money out of a turnstile at Hilton Park

I didn't realise that there was still a turnstile on Hilton Park, very informative these forums.

It is difficult to explain in words sometimes , sometimes things just dont ' feel ' right , and hopefully in time , things will feel right and you and others like myself will want to be stood on the terracing with those who still enjoy the experience , hopefully with a few thousand new fans as well

' Honesty ' a very undervalued commodity thses days Keith , you dont always have to agree with someone , or even like them , but honesty should always command some respect

I too think the original post is very valid and honest. The most important part of it being the bit that maybe it will provide some ''food for thought'' for the new BoM. We all know that some of them read this forum and if only 1 of the points is taken onboard and adressed by the BoM it may attract some lapsed fans back.

Totally agree with the guy most of my gripes are what he states,like I said in previous posts

Stick a line in the sand and say from next year we will have no twinning or dual,season long loans no problem as that as happens for 100 year.

He is a bit of food for thought,how many customers does a retail shop have to attract to replace 1 loyal customer who as gone else were?????

Re introduction of promotion and relegation the coming year coupled with sensible season ticket prices/booklet and the ripping up of twining arrangement duals!

Thank you for your honest and frank reasons as to why you no longer watch the club. This is the kind of feedback we need to know and we will take it on board rest assured.

We can't resolve everything overnight but rest assured your concerns and indeed everyone elses will be addressed ASAP. In the meantime if you wish to pm me I'd lke to offer you the chance to come to meet the team to see what we are about honest and genuine Leigh fans who want to make this a community fans club. I'd personally lke to demonstrate to you it's not empty words and we will listen and learn from constructive critism.
