What about the Lord Nelson on Bradshawgate, I was never old enough to go in but can remember it being there.

When I were a lad (1950), my nearest tempy bar was Tommy Sale's! Had my first pint at "Aunties" at Butts Bridge and had some good times in Bomb and Dagger

My first pint was mild at 29p in the Oddfellows with mine host Peter a mean piano player .Remember as a kid looking out of the top windows in the Queens in 1971 when leythers returned with the challenge cup oh happy days

What was the name of the pub on the corner by the Parish Church, opposite the White Lion? Anyone as old as me who remebers it?

The one that became the insurance place was it not the grenadier? Or something like that. I seem to remember it having an old soldier on the sign

I understood it was going to be a menswear shop. The people who have the menswear shop next to the Globe bought it before it closed down.

The pub where Rix Carpets is , was The Lilford Hotel , the one near the Parish Church was the Brown Cow ,and the Lord Nelson , was on Bradshawgate , with the old Beachcomber Club , down its side , my claim to fame ,i did a DJ spot upstairs at the White Horse , about 40 years ago

I remember the pub it was next to the Brown Cow and had a black brick front with very low window sills.

Sorry can't remember the name though although it was a Tetley pub (not that smooth flow crap).
