I've had this opinion for ages as well. Unless the contract has ended, or the club gives player/coach permission then clubs should not be giving them contract for following season unless they leave straight away after negotiating a fee or something.

Well we have to be realistic here.

Our coach goes for an interview at the tail end of the season. He gets the job and noone would find out until the season is over. Not possible is it.

Rochdale's season is not over but from what I hear he won't be there next season.

To be honest I think Ian's time is up,he got out coached yet again at the play off stage.

When you watch the game again you will see sheff defense covering every set play we have with ease,think Ian's as only two moves in his wardrobe and the eagles read us like a book.

Still think not taking the easy 2 points to make it 8-8 was the game breaker its cup football after all,sadly Ian still thinks he is at saints with an international squad and tell them to chuck it around.

I'd agree with that.
However with what I was on about in place it would have meant (in our case) Basil would have to have applied for , be interviewed and announced as going to Castleford by May 31st.
Anything after that the club who he signs for gets hit with - 12 points for the following season and £20,000 fine, might make the signing club think twice (or be less open about it - thus less chance of it getting out and potentially unsettling a team / support)
To get it formally dumped on our club in August was nothing short of a farce and it has had some impact (no matter how small) on our clubs chance of progression in a sporting competition IMO.

That cannot be allowed to carry on and is not healthy in any sport.

You can't blame IM for the boys not using certain moves on the field. They are not connected by radio and a quick chat from a water carrier doesn't always filter down to every player. When they walk on that field the game is in their hands, all IM can do is make player changes and issue roasting for not following a plan. I have to agree with Matts thinking on how we played with the fact that we were (again) lazy in defence.

Bazil is a top class coach who haas done everything expected of him, unfortunatly all his good work will be wasted again due to the running of the club,
