Memory's a bit hazy now. Didn't we play Dewsbury away in the playoffs that year? The same game that Sid got sent off in. If so Bretherton played in that game because he tore them apart. I think we possibly went straight through to the final? Or we played Oldham at home after that...genuinly think I'm getting years mixed up here

We played Dewsbury last match , won I think which meant , we had to go to Dewsbury in the play offs

We beat them and the rules then meant we took their home advantage in the semi

Is that the year we played Oldham at HP then in front of about 6,000?

I think it was , however we played them the following year as well

Aye, we lost that game then proceeded to lose to Widnes at home an all. Think the Grand Final was on Channel 5 too.

I still don't think I've got over the loss to Widnes that year, that game is what sport is all about, effort, skill and emotion.

The momentum we had as a club and team was fantastic , we just blew it at the end (in a cracking game - shocking result), with a positive good set of supporters and some good players (with a good mix of youngsters and experienced pro's) and a good coach it would have been interesting to see what happened if we had gone up.

As it is , we're starting all over again with a good mix of players, slowly increasing gates, a excellant coach , and off the field the feel good factor slowly creeping back

If we'd gone up then we'd have come straight down, but I'm sure we'd have gone up better and stronger two years on, like Salford did. But then if my auntie had gonads she'd be my uncle.
