Crowds in this league will never get much higher than they are because of no automatic promotion. Going back 8-9 years I remember there being 5-6000 at Widnes when we played. Be interesting to see what our average was the season we went up.

maybe you should tell the wig**er who wrote to the express and said we rarely get over 1000

It was only about 2200, we averaged more in the season after SL, 2003 was our best average in the 00's in the 2nd tier.

Fairly certain our ave was around 1,800 in 2004 , had more of a passing interest at the time in our income streams



Dont forget we had no mutants to play back then and Fax,Fev and HKR were all at a very low ebb

For the Championship I think overall avg attendences across the league are better now than they were a few years back, but the attendences in Champ1 these days are frightening. I don't know how those clubs are keeping running. Back when Fev were in that league I'm sure a few others like Oldham and York were pulling in more than 1k home support, looking at it now there's barely anyone even getting close to it.
