I think it's a case of Celtic bringing players over on student visa's in the last few years but the UK border agency has tightend up the rules. Meaning players have to obtain a full visa which is harder than the student ones.

I shouldn't be laughing because its embarrassing for the game, but I am, not at Celtic (I feel sorry for their fans), but at that Dick Lewis.

how many of these actually contribute to the spectacle of super league? JVD? nah, not in super league, top quality at our level, yes. Duggan? maybe elusive, good to watch. Hannay? has been a good un, not showing that anymore. More to the point, are they helping develop welsh rugby league? definately not, they are swallowing up contracts that should be spent on the very few welsh youngsters interested in the game. Also, very happy with the new visa rules, cost us the signing of williams, but look at the quality of imports this year! far better than in the past IMO.

Is there not a person/persons at the RFL responsible for ensuring that all the players are eligible to play and examine visas etc.?

Probably not... Celtic Crusaders are the employer, so the liability rests with them. RFL rules only cover the internal registration, eg making sure a player is not dual-registered, suspended, etc. The employment status is down solely to the employer.

This is exactly what happened to PSG in what turned out to be their last ever season.

Does anyone really think this pathetic little welsh club will last the 3 years of their silver spoon freeload in the super league. The sooner everyone comes to their senses and a real club deserving of a place is put in the better. And one that plays to the same rules as everyone else.
