Correct, I dont know him personally like you presumably do? however, whenever he has played I've been impressed. Didn't he drop a decisive goal at Sheffield to help secure the game? The last time I saw him play at LSV he put three marvellous kicks high into the corners which,due to poor support play were not capitalised upon! Paul Rowley seems to be having a few problems with his team at the moment, I'll help you Paul,play Martin Ridyard because,he is quicker,more enthusiastic,excellent field kicker(re-Mr Chairman) and,far better than Ernie (Hemingway) !!

Martyn Started the season very well scoring on most occasions he played he was then was dropped unfairly and unnecessarily by Mr Rowley who since then has played an injured centre (Donlan), an overweight ball handling prop (Marsh) and others players out of position to keep him out of the side. We can slag the players off all we want but in this case I think Martyn has been harshly treated and never really been given the opportunity to develop at this level. I hope he gets a deal for next year but he world still be working with the poor coach who has crippled his confidence!!! And if he doesn’t get a deal I do wonder whether Martyn would continue playing at all. Well done again Mr Rowley.

Ridyard needs to be nurtured. Throwing him into the first team with confidence and performances as they are will probably do Martyns devlopment more harm than good. Leave him in the reserve team where he is playing in a team that is ripping it up. Millward will help to develop Martyns game next season.

I reckon Ridyard, like Mort, WILL develop and improve and prove to be an asset to our club in years to come.

Tommy M was great but Alec Murphy was by far the best without a shadow of a doubt he was World Class in everything he did on a rugby field his kicking game was awesome he could place his kicks wherever
he wanted them to go time after time never seen a player since with the skill Alec had, one of the all time great World Class players in any code of Rugby !!!

Ridyard was brought here to play in the reserves this season and find his feet that way, sadly with the cock up of not getting a stand off which we needed and wanted it has forced him to play probably more than Leigh and maybe himself exepcted to. The plan was to ease him into a first team spot, I don't call playing away at Sheffield the first game of the season easing him in, although he did kick the drop goal to win us the game

He had too much expected of him, hes young and he has time on his side. The pressure been put on him unfairly with us signing no half back.
