| Aaaaahh! Good evening, good evening, good evening, good evening, good evening, and welcome all to WPL (more than a handful’s wasted) CCup Special and a hearty welcome to the audience and to this evening’s guests. To Bongser’s left we see this round’s biggest misnomer, yes it’s “Summer Rugby”. Sharing a desk with him is one of today’s, featured game, postponements. To the right we have the other and, as ever, Mr Alan Davies. Fingers on hooters, please.
At great expense to the BBC (though less so to Dave), you were all given a “Pokemon in the Room” little sticky-uppy thingy. Now, now! No schoolboy sing, please, and no Ms Brand you still can’t have one.
With seven featured matches still going ahead, the Pokemon bonus was still available but nobody saw the “Debacle of Dewsbury” coming. With both Whitehaven and Barrow winning, maybe Dr Marwan has inadvertently instilled a NIMBY siege mentality in Cumbria.
Couple of late entries this week. VL missed the first two games and WLJ just the first. The latter latecomer did “postdict” the correct winner in Friday’s mismatch (unsurprisingly a clean sweep for all the eligible posters) and Bongser did spot this despite the distraction of Jim “guessing” the margin and scoreline wrongly around twelve hours after the completion of the game!! Alas, he shall have no points on that match.
Now, oh my, oh my, oh my! Do Bongser’s eyes deceive him? We seem to have (as well as a rare, if squeaky bum, victory for Leigh – did anyone else notice that Darth Caroli went over to the dark side?) a hen’s tooth in the room: The Publican correctly predicted the exact score line of the Barrow vs Sheffield game. Aaaaahh, he shall have points – 34 thus far making him this week’s leader, though not yet winner. All of which brings us neatly to the bit we like to call “General Ignorance”.
Ol’ Pa Bongser, whenever he espied a more than generously proportioned lady would exclaim, “By ‘eck! If she says it’s Sunday, it’s bl00dy Sunday”. As it is indeed Sunday he must have been right. But in this ever changing world it will be Tuesday before two burly girlies pluck from the swirlies and Bongser can’t score the bonuses until then. By ‘eck! If they say it’s Tuesday, it’s bl00dy Tuesday – especially as they’re holding the balls.
Until then, Bongser will leave you with a cheerful (though less than Wagnerian) composition by one Howard Goodall.

| Oh my, oh my ,oh my, oh my, oh my! Felicitations to Oldham but, without wishing to take any of the sheen off their glory, could 'Fax not raise a team tonight. None of the Knights of the Round Table saw that storm blowing in. Where's Michael Feesh when he's needed. Well, speaking of Blowers (chalk and cheese interview on the Mike Sweeney show yestermorn) we'll borrow his words as that match "didn't bother the scorers".
The Fev match tonight wouldn't have done either (as all posters nailed the victor - please, ladies and gentlemen, spare my blushes) save that westleighjim correctly predicted the next draw for them. He shall have points as indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, inDEED, shall Atomic, Vancouver Leyther (late but great) and Wanderer who also (elsewhere) pulled out a plum after sticking in their thumb (that's enough, please!)
All of which brings us to the Eton Mess of the scores.
This week's runaway winner with 36 points (add on the WWB OF 25 = 61) is The Publican and that solid smash over the grandstand takes him to his century. In vino veritas. Two other new ton ups this round (we revere Centurions in this league of gentlemen - even if one of them is a wolf in sheep's clothing) in Atomic & Wanderer. Raise your bats, sirrahs, thrice times three.
So we now have a hunting pack for the old stag, Darth, who with Cokey and thine host scored least of those of this week's witting entrants (more of that later )
1. Charlie Caroli - 128
2. The Publican - 106
3. Wanderer - 105
4. Atomic - 103
Into the nervous nineties and with Leyther playing tortoise and hare again:
5. Bongser - 95
6. Leyther X111 - 94
Into the Peleton (though they've all seen that a week's a long time in ballpredicts:
7. Zulu01 - 76
8. Vancouver Leyther - 72
9. westleighjim - 61
10. Cokey - 56
11. Jack Diggle - 49
12. SaBadSel - 16
Propping up the pile with a late entry this week, after Leigh's win (so it wouldn't have counted anyway), with an incorrect draw prediction (C&Ws to face Wire) and on the wrong thread it's (unlucky)
13. Uncle Monty Burns - 0000
New puntables out tomorrow. Heads up, ladies, Friday start.
So from the Pools Panel and Bongser it's goodnight.
Goodnight.

| So to this week’s matches:
Friday
Rochdale XX-XX Toronto
Saturday
Toulouse XX-XX Halifax
Sunday
Barrow XX – XX Sheffield
Batley XX – XX Featherstone
Leigh XX – XX Dewsbury
Swinton XX – XX London
On to the Bonkers Bonus:
Your predicted score-lines will be totalled and compared with the actual number of points scored in the six championship matches this week. Since you needn’t do anything bar give your preds, there should be less grousing that the bonus is unfathomable.
Something similar was the bonus set last week on the Bulls’ forum but no one got anywhere close due to the number of postponements. Should there be any this week, Bongser will pro rate your "predictions" and round to the nearest integer.
10 points for plumb, 5 points for within 12, 2 points for within 24. These margins will also be pro rated if necessary.
Good Luck

| Well Bongser, I'm starting my predictions early this week, as I'm waiting for the Horse Racing to start,as Chicken George used to say, I'm a Sportin Man.
Rochdale 14 v Toronto 34.
Toulouse 36 v Fax 16.
Barrow 26 v Sheff 14.
Batley 16 V Fev 28.
Leigh 30 v Dews 16.
Swinton 12 v London 32.
I'm happy it's a simple bonus this week , I'm a simple man, as you can see the Leigh prediction this week is for a Centurions win, only because my Scottish Terrier Barney , chose the Sunday games results, I'm taking a chance I know, but he did beat Cokey at Scrabble.
