Jamie needs to Learn and he could have done with decent coaching and discipline.

All teams have an 'Enforcer' in their ranks but most play the game hard, fair and with a bit of Sledging / Niggle. Jamie has yet to Master this and he has alot to Learn.

To be honest, Its probably a good thing he isnt playing again this season. We cannot afford to lose players in vital games because all seven matches can be definitely won and lost !!

But we don't lose him in games, its this bl@@dy Review Panel that nails him icon_evil.gif
I'm sick of watching Ashton Sims every match he's brawling with opponents and, he never gets long bans etc...
Interesting watching Bird on Saturday against Cas, he was flattened from behind and went face down with his Arms stretched out , he quickly 'came round' though, he must have thought I cant pull that one again icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

I know what you are saying and i agree with you.

Some players take it to the limit without taking it further. I would gladly pay double to watch Ashton Sims get snotted.

Peacock took the biscuit, but no one can disagree that he was one hard barsteward. Again, sledged to high heaven but always kept under the radar !!

Bring back Tony Cottrell for the Catalans and Wire games. he would love it ! icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

His knock on with 90 seconds to go at Catalans ultimately cost us 10th place and an extra home game. Another example of him just not doing playing particularly smart. Like against Wigan, he could've just held the player back rather than tripping him. Wouldn't have been banned for that. As for Bird, may as well have waited for him to get up, then chinned him.

He's still got plenty to learn, but I don't think its a coincidence that we looked more composed, less erratic without him or Higson in the side. Albeit in a game with less intensity about it than what I would expect is coming

Point was there was no need to be striving so much for a quick play the ball with 90 seconds left on the clock and a 2 point lead.

Where did I say I wanted him to feign injury? There's a difference between lying down and faking injury and getting up with both hands on the ball after the tackler has cleared the ruck.

It seems once again, a caution for tripping seems to be the norm
nowadays.............unless you play for Leigh of course.

However, all these cautions must have had an effect on Richie Myler. He WASN'T cited for tripping, this week! icon_wink.gif

100% Agree. It is similar to him in the 8's last season deliberately and needlessly flattening Flannagan from behind in the opening quarter of game 2 Vs Salford. I wonder where we would have ended up in that game and as a club now if the officials had seen that and sent him off there and then !

Quote: LeythIg " He's still got plenty to learn, but I don't think its a coincidence that we looked more composed, less erratic without him or Higson in the side. Albeit in a game with less intensity about it than what I would expect is coming'"

I questioned him last year if he would be able to cope with the pressures and extra microscopic scrutiny that SL ensures all players need to play under. I am still wondering if this boy Acton will ever learn. He is 26 next birthday and we are still not seeing any signs of any leveling of maturity with him.

Absolutely. The Qualifiers are 7 high stake games, played in a pressure cooker environment. It requires players who are totally disciplined with the mind set and ability to get the job done, remaining 100% focused no matter how intense the pressure or provocation.

IMO and all things considered, Acton probably serves us best sat in the stands during this competition. To much is at stake for his silly shenanigans now.

According to the owner, he has stopped punching and retaliating - in other words, he has improved some of his discipline. icon_wink.gif Not sure how you work towards cutting out some of the 'indisciplines' that have landed him in trouble this year?
