Put out an announcement on here / local press / programme / letters at turnstyles etc. Ask members who wish to vote to drop off a signed A4 sheet (containing their name & address as proof of membership) at the next home game.

Who should do this ?

its got to be a postal vote,every member must have a chance to have their say.As for cost lets ask for donations to cover the price of postage.Ill start the ball rolling with a tenner

I have a lot of email address fred but not all people have them, as I said I wanted to use a postal vote but got shot down.

I wasn't having a go at you specifically & will happily go on record as saying you do a fantastic job with LISA as do a number of others - nor do I think I could do a better job than you.

I do however think that you or anybody from LISA cannot join the Board on behalf of LISA as you would be hugely conflicted in your dual roles - equally to be considered unsuitable for the Board for whatever reason could do far more damage than good.

For me LISA have done more for the club than any individual and as such to re-name the North Stand as the LISA stand would be a far greater accolade for all involved than creating the poisoned chalice of sitting on the Board trying to represent 400+ opinions.

Can I just say as a LISA member I have no idea whatsoever wether it is a good thing or not to be on the board or just have shares ,no idea at all, so I wouldn't know which way to vote and neither would my friends to be honest .This is why I haven't commented on the thread .

Whilst being a LISA supporter but not a member I will also donate a fiver towards postal and other costs re a postal vote.

I should imagine your in the majority with that view

Should the club make and release a statement as to what it wants from having a LISA member on the board and what ,if anything, it is offering LISA members?.

I don't think they should J.C. it is only of importance to LISA members (and TBH the board will still function without a LISA rep) if it interests others then they should join, a statement from an organisation is different than placing it on an open bulletin board like this, an extraordinary AGM should be called by LISA and the pros and cons discussed, a vote postal or by members present on 1 whether a LISA rep should be on the BOD and 2 Who that person should be. There can be no other way a democratic decision is made but by it's members and this seems the only way.

Lynda, don't let the odd person shoot you down, their opinion is not neccesarily the opinion of everyone else. It was the same when Bert used to attend - just because he was one of the half dozen who liked speaking up he swayed desicions and spoke the majority whether they agreed or not.
Unfortunately a lot of people don't like to speak in front of a group - nothing wrong with that (I am one), so things need to go to a vote of ALL members - not just the few regulars (75% of whom don't speak up either).
Costs therefore should come from LISA funds for any stationery / postage etc. If not then those that don't find out about votes & changes etc will probably drop out of LISA so you would lose £60 per year compared with about 36p for a stamp.
