Sykes may have been offered a short term contract at Leigh I don't know but reading the Fev press release I think it's more of a case of Fev trying to say Worthington has made the wrong choice.

We have to remember Yorkies are far more gullible than us posh folk on the west of the Pennines. So it cheers their fans up.

his age is irrelevant. he simply isnt good enough to get into the current leigh team.

He may have turned down Bradford or London. It only mentions a full time contract.

A Fev official has gone on record saying it was Leigh.

I only wish we had signed Menzies a couple of years ago when he was allegedly linked with us. Age is only a number class is permanent. As long as a player is fit enough it matters not what his age is if he's good enough.

If he's good enough he's young OR old enough. The thing with this Leigh team is that we have a lot of good enough YOUNG players that will only get better, now that is not to say we shouldn't look at 33/34/ or even 35 yr old IF they are still fit and more importantly exceptional players
eg, If fui fui signs for Leigh until 2017, then that would be a good deal regardless of his age.
