If say we had to part company with Paul Rowley. We couldn't be in the market for an SL or NRL coach because we simply could not afford them. That's how simple that comment was.
No one on this board has ever said that our team "are the best by a country mile" which is the most arrogant and big headed statement I have ever read. Correct me if I am wrong came from a Fax fan.
Fax are at a low that they have not experienced in a long time but you will come through. All I will say is please don't make statements that make you sound like a poor down trodden relation. Get your bloody chins up and come back with better than that.

I think you will find most Leigh fans chuffed for Fax and chuffed for Richard. All of us (clubs) have had peaks and troughs and i'm sure we can all pinpoint various reasons like change of coach or owner or as an example by the time we found out we would be admitted to SL most players worth having had already put pen to paper for their own security and we had (results wise ) an awful season. When Paul became head coach we had no team no coaching staff and not much in the way of investment. We have just had one of our best seasons ever with a coach who it seems managed to get players he wanted. That same coach has and is actively adding to that squad and for the first time in a while a lot of Leythers are pessimistically optimistic



. We have been in similar positions to the one Fax and Fev find themselves in which Mapleyther remembers only to well which is probably why he said "No disrespect meant to Marshall but its probably all they can afford at the moment". Marshall wont be cheap but he will be a gamble ( one which you will find most of us hope is a successful one), you could spend a fortune on a proven successful coach only to find he doesn't work well with someone else's players and you have to either replace the coach or large part of the team, with that in mind it makes Richard the more affordable option, i wonder how much it cost to get Harrison, were you his first club after Salford?.

Harrison's club prior to Fax was his coaching stint at Batley.

You're wrong about a fax fan saying the "best by a country mile". It was their coach Matt Calland.

For the Fax fan it was 4 months into the season before any if the rivals hit difficulty.

It's not arrogance it's the league table we were the best team is this league by a light year.

Oh and in the last 3 years we've won the cup twice so not bad going!!

Marshall is in no way a gamble or a cheap option, having won three challenge cup finals, a league leaders shield and taken wire to two (hopefully three) grand finals. He has served his apprenticeship under the best coach in rugby league and received interest from SL clubs.

Let's not forget that 12 months ago plenty on here wanted to hand Rowley his P45.
