| Got that game on VHS somewhere in the loft. We played well that day.
There were two opposing wingers with similar names which Ray French commented on .
Any one remember the names ?
Derek Pyke was superb as well.
Might try and dig it out for Fred

| Quote Starbug="Starbug"I worked for Windowcraft from 3 rd Nov 86 for almost 4 years, we got complementary tickets during that time, I remember Dereck Pyke as captain having a sponsored Xr3i and the coach a Ford Granada, both livered up in Windowcraft colours ( that coincidently matched the clubs ) ,apparently Mike Ford asked but was refused a car at that time
So it must have been Benyon , I remember the final, both clubs being sponsored by double glazing companies, =#FF0000and the tackle by the Saints winger that cost us the game, who we then signed a couple of years later'"
Was that Barry Ledger, on John Henderson?

Top bloke who I remember always having tome to sign an autograph and I had his tie ups a few times when running on at the end
You just don't see props in that mould anymore, ball handler who could also use the boot.
Think that came from being an England RU schoolboy?
Like you say Keith a nice man as well and I was a kid back then but still have the photo in the 87 kit which Derek signed the back of, those are the things kids remember and it's one of the many reasons I was sold on Leigh as a kid!

I played Hooker alongside Derek (and the other Prop was a lad call Ian Beckinsale ). They were both massive props weighing in at about 8 stone each at the time.
We also had a coach/manager who knew a thing or two about rugby and was also our Headmaster at the school. St Pey's was the school and a certain Mr Sale "Sir Tommy" was our coach. Happy days
ps Mr C, I think Derek would call himself a "Plonk loner" before a Westleyther

Sorry but Plank lane opposite Firsway Nissan until he went to the big school . The houses got demolished in 72ish so he flit to West Leigh then. A clever lad to go with all his brawn too.

| Thanks very much Eddie but I have the 71 game it's still copyrighted to the BBC though. But any more would be great, as for dropping them off anywhere would suffice thanks.
